Columbia’s ROC Pants Are Seriously Overqualified
The ROC collection has been around the block, bringing tough-wearing pants to your daily-wear closet since the early 2000s. The “Rugged Outdoor Collection” (ROC) is Columbia’s answer to everyday gear that can transition from the office to the trail as soon as you clock out.    The ROC pants are full of thoughtful design features, from the no-back-gap waistband for women...
Superior Shape for an Outdoor Folder: Vosteed Shilin Review
Unlike knife blade steel, there’s rarely a new knife blade shape. But there are little-known shapes that never really caught on. One of those is the Shilin blade shape. For the life of me, the only reason I can see it not being more popular is that it originated from a small village in Taiwan more than 150 years ago....

The 2025 KLR 650 Adventure ABS Has No Business Being This Fun!
I owe my father an apology for not recommending the Kawasaki KLR 650 Adventure ABS ($8,099). When I moved back to the States about a decade ago, we were both in the market for motorcycles. He started riding as a kid and still rips. I didn’t start until I was an adult. (Wait, maybe he owes me an apology?!) We...

Running Shorts With Storage Superpowers: Oiselle Pockito Review
As a recovering ultra runner, Ive run enough miles in my life to know that the best womens running shorts disappear mid-run. You dont feel them, tug at them, or even notice them. But even now, I still want gear that performs across trail runs, hikes, and the occasional paved adventure. Thats why Ive been pleasantly surprised with the Oiselle...
Backcountry Powder Tools: Atomic Backland FR Ski Pole Review
When youre backcountry skiing, it never hurts to keep some extra tools on hand. That was a hard truth my partner and I were grappling with as we tried to hand-tighten screws on his splitboard bindings. The pucks were loose, and we couldnt adequately retighten the screws with just our fingers. It was cold, blowing snow, and before us, our...

Look Out, iX3: The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 Is Hot on Your Haferlschuhs
The vehicle behind that fish-like grille is the latest SUV from Mercedes-Benz. The all-new 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC is strange on the outside, but up-to-the-minute high-tech on the inside. The launch model is all-electric with 483 horsepower, a range of about 400 miles, and the ability to tow more than 5,000 pounds. Electric Model Will Launch New GLC (Photo/Mercedes-Benz)...
