Allak 2
Hilleberg
Allak 2
$1,282.00
Description

Simple, light, strong, and freestanding; an excellent all-around two-person tent

Inspired by Hilleberg's exceptionally strong Staika, the Hilleberg was designed to be a completely freestanding, 4 season dome tent for those prioritizing lighter weight over absolute strength. During its two year development, the Hilleberg Allak 2 became their testers’ tent of choice anytime they were uncertain about what kind of terrain or conditions they might experience on a trip. Its exceptionally compact footprint and freestanding design are ideal for tough pitching conditions, such as rocky ground and sand, and it is easily light enough for mobile journeys, where you move your camp every day. At the same time, its three pole dome structure is strong enough for basecamp use in all but the worst conditions. Since its introduction, paddlers favor it for its ability to be pitched nearly anywhere, while backpackers choose it for its roomy stability and wonderfully light weight. Mountaineers appreciate both the Allak’s freestanding design and its roominess, as well as its ability to deal with snow loading. And taller adventurers find its length a welcome comfort.

A note on colors: Fabric dyes have natural variations, so the actual tent color may look slightly different from what is pictured here.

Footprint sold separately.

Is a Trip to Burning Man Worth the Medical Debt?
A broken back and ribs, a bruised spleen, and a punctured lung—Rachael Gingery’s list of injuries looked like the aftermath of a WWE wrestling match, not a trip to an art and culture festival inspired by such lofty ideals, self-described as “community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance.” But that’s what Gingery told SFGATE she endured in 2024 during her eighth Burning...

Maybe the Best Deal in Knives: Morakniv Companion Fixed-Blade Review
Like the Opinel No.08 Inox, the Morakniv Companion’s excellence owes largely to its paltry price. At $16, you could afford it with money from a kids paper route. But most importantly, the Morakniv Companion punches way beyond its price tag when it comes to performance and quality. Realistically, youd have to pay three times as much to find a knife...
