Badger GWS
Western Mountaineering
Badger GWS
$765.00 - $815.00
Description

  Extra-wide mummy with windproof, highly water-resistant shell; 15° F.

Don't let a little claustrophobia keep you from getting into a mummy bag; everything about the Western Mountaineering Badger GWS is built for comfort. The 15-degree Badger is a mammoth 66 inches wide at the shoulder and 41 at the foot, and this girth is kept in line with a warm down-filled collar that provides a barrier against convective heat loss and a full-length insulated draft tube along the zipper. The hood is cut large and fills around your face without having to be cinched tight. On top of all that, the Badger GWS has a highly water-resistant/breathable Gore Windstopper™ shell for extreme weather protection. This shell is the most water-resistant, windproof, and breathable fabric suitable for sleeping bags.

Like all of Western Mountaineering's bags, the Badger GWS is made by hand in San Jose, California. Their down is sourced from free-range mother geese who are never live-plucked or force-fed.

Footprint sold separately.

How to Hear the Minnesota Wilderness in a Guitar Chord, With Dave Simonett
Minnesota is not always top of mind when it comes to outdoor adventure, but it should be. Just ask lifelong “Land of 10,000 Lakes” local Dave Simonett, lead singer of Trampled By Turtles. Dave grew up in Mankato and spent his youth exploring its rolling woods. And when he formed Trampled in Duluth in 2003, something surprising happened. His love...
Are Rain Skirts Officially High Fashion? These Top Designers Seem to Think So.
With the exception of Scotsmen in kilts, skirts tend to stoke controversy in the outdoors. The first women mountaineers—like Henriette d’Angeville, who, in 1838, became the second woman to ever successfully climb Mount Blanc—didn’t have much of a choice but to hike in a skirt or dress, given the gendered fashion norms of the nineteenth century. But in the 1900s,...

With a 23-month-old and a 7-month-old crawling all over me at any given moment, I...
The Best Camera Bags for 2025
Cameras present a unique challenge in the backcountry or on an adventure. They’re often heavier, always more expensive, and usually more fragile than any other outdoor gear you’re hauling around (including your phone). That means you need a trustworthy camera bag that carries exceptionally well, is easy to access, protects your gear from drops, falls, and the elements, and is...
