Description

The Dragonfly OSMO Bikepack 1P tent is tailored specifically for two-wheeled journeys, canoe trips, and other excursions where its ultra-small packed size will make a huge difference. Now made with NEMO's composite OSMO™ fabric, this ultralight shelter promises excellent water repellency that lasts 4x longer and resists stretch when wet. Designed with shortened pole segments, it stows easily in a stuff sack that’s been optimized for bike travel with tiedown straps to eliminate wobble. With the adjustable straps, it can securely fasten to handlebars, a rack, or a frame.

The tent itself features a tapered floor plan to save weight without sacrificing livable space, and a tub floor design to increase privacy and weather protection. The asymmetrical vestibule keeps gear tucked out of the way, and a Landing Zone™ waterproof storage tub offers a protected, mud-free dumping ground. Thoughtful new details include an overhead, diffusing Nightlight Pocket™ and integrated Gatekeeper™ clips, while an internal daisy chain, gear loft, and gear pockets offer plenty of storage and organization.

Backed by NEMO’s Lifetime Warranty, this tent soars above the competition and keeps your journey smooth.

An Ode to the Small But Mighty Wet Wipe
I recently took an informal inventory of my gear to try and figure out what piece I’ve used the most over the past three months. A favorite pair of Altra running shoes and a Salsa bike were near the top, but as I finished the tally, it became clear that individually sealed wipe packets, like those from Dude Wipes and...

I’ve Been Running—and Sweating Profusely—for More Than 40 Years. These Are the Best Hot-Weather Shorts I’ve Ever Owned.
If, like me, you’re a ridiculously heavy sweater, you may have been told after a run: “You look like you jumped in a pool.” And if you’ve been paid that compliment, you’re in luck, because the Ciele ATShort is designed for exactly that—dipping in a pool or a lake during or after a run—so they are exceptionally adept at managing...
A Botched Photo in Glacier National Park Led to a Dramatic Rescue
A group of tourists was involved in a dramatic rescue operation in Montana’s Glacier National Park on Sunday, July 6. According to a press release from the National Park Service, four visitors from Florida were attempting to take a photo together on a cliff above Avalanche Creek, one of the park’s most famous natural features. Avalanche Creek through a narrow,...

Austrian Daredevil Felix Baumgartner Dies in a Paramotor Crash
Austrian skydiver and BASE jumper Felix Baumbartner, famous for his 2012 jump from earths stratosphere, was killed in a paramotoring accident on Thursday, July 17, on Italys Adriatic coast. He was 56. According to local reports, Baumgartner was piloting a paramotor—an ultralight aircraft that uses a wing-like parachute—when he crashed into a hotel pool in the town of Porto SantElpidio,...
The Coolest Gear We Saw at OMA’s Summer 2025 Media Show
Every year, Outside’s gear team heads to Outdoor Market Alliance in Lakewood, Colorado, to get a glimpse at the new gear headed to the North American market. Much of what we get our hands on is headed for shelves in a few months for the fall season. Some of it, though, is a glimpse at next summer’s offerings, giving is...
Scientists Reveal That a Popular Backpacking Lake Is Chock-Full of Poop
Last fall, scientists from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) revealed that a popular lake in Wyoming’s Wind River Range is contaminated with human feces. And not just contaminated, but the most heavily contaminated lake out of nearly 1,000 lakes surveyed across the United States. Look up a picture of Lonesome Lake, and you may be surprised. It doesn’t look like...
An Injured Hiker Screamed Across a Valley. The Yelling Saved His Life.
A fallen hiker in the mountains of Washington found himself in dire straits: badly injured, alone, and approaching hypothermia this past Monday, July 14. According to a press release from the U.S. Navy’s air station on Whidbey Island, the hiker, 31-year-old Ryan Polkinghorn, was climbing the Chickamin Glacier on the northern slopes of 8,440-foot Sinister Peak, a remote, rugged mountain...
This Colorado Town Just Bought Its Ski Area From Corporate Ownership
In a ski industry era dominated by acquisitions and the slow-but-steady march of conglomerates like Vail Resorts and Alterra Mountain Company, it’s easy to assume the next resort to change hands will be swept into another megapass portfolio. But today’s news? It flips the script. The town of Nederland, Colorado—population 1,500—is buying Eldora Mountain from POWDR. Watch: This Is What...
