Legit Running Shoes Made From Castor Beans, Sugar Cane & Cornstarch: Hylo Impact Review
These shoes are almost perfect, I thought. With 4 miles down and 2 to go — my typical training run for new shoes — I could tell that Hylos debut running shoe, the Impact, was not going to shatter my PR. The shoe wasnt overwhelmingly fast, and it didnt feel remarkably different than any other well-made running shoe. Oddly, though, that similarity to...
The Best Tire Pressure Gauges of 2024
Your tires are the only part of your car that interacts with the road. If they’re underinflated, they not only cost you gas but can make your car handle unsafely. While almost every car sold has an internal system that reports an approximate tire pressure, the best tire pressure gauges will give you an instant, accurate real-time measure of your...
Meet the Lunar Cruiser: NASA Taps Toyota for Special Moon Build
This is one small step for man — but one giant leap for campervans. Astronauts on future moon missions will have a sweet new ride to help with long-term exploration: the Lunar Cruiser. This pressurized vehicle was developed over a 5-year collaboration between Toyota and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Designed for bigger expeditions across the lunar surface, the...
Walmart Gravel Bike Review: I Rode the Ozark Trail G.1 Explorer 300 Mountain Miles
I’ve been the guy adventuring on a threadbare budget. Whether because of a late payment, a stolen bike, a last-minute invitation, or otherwise, I’ve had to get creative. Now, one of the largest companies on earth is aiming to lower the gravel bike price barrier in a big way. Last year, Walmart dropped a mountain under its Ozark Trails line,...

Iconic Luxury Off-Roader Goes Electric: 2025 Mercedes-Benz G 580
The all-electric version of the legendary Mercedes-Benz G-Class has just launched, and the company promises that it will have even better off-road performance than the gas model. Its called the Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology, which is a heck of a name. But it can climb a 100% grade, has stability on side slopes up to 35 degrees, and...
Everest Season Kicks Off with New Rules, Big Crowds, and Poop Bags
The 2024 climbing season on Mount Everest is in full swing this week as expedition teams arrive at Base Camp and begin acclimatization rotations on the peak. As Outside recently reported, the official start on the mountain’s Nepalese side is delayed this year due to dangerous conditions in the Khumbu Icefall. The circuitous route through the glacier that precedes the...
Mallory’s Last Words: Haunting Letters From Fateful 1924 Everest Expedition Now Online
The candle is burning down now and I must stop. Those were among the final words of Sir George Mallory, the most infamous casualty of those who have died trying to summit the worlds highest mountain. This year marks the 100th anniversary of his death on Mount Everest in 1924. His alma mater, Magdalene College, is marking the centennial by...
What Adventurous Moms Really Want For Mother’s Day
I gave birth to my first kid one week before Mother’s Day last year. Had you asked me then what I wanted for Mother’s Day, I would have said a poké bowl and a Mexican lager (or two or three)—the things I had been craving most after nine months of deprivation. As for gifts that would make motherhood easier, I...
