  Technical Information

The motivation behind the Frontier MAX filtration system was easy, we wanted a filter that does everything and does it better than anything else. So we told our engineers to get to work, and what they designed is the Frontier MAX. MAX because it does it all, and does it better than anything else. We wanted a filter that connected to hydration packs. The MAX incorporates our patented UQC connection system that allows you to connect it to any quick connect on the market. We wanted a filter that protected you from every biological threat that you might possibly encounter, so we included the Aquamira GRN Line Backcountry filter, designed to be easy to use, lightweight, compact, and reliable. GRN Line Backcountry filtration is achieved using Hollow Fiber Technology. Inside a hollow fiber membrane water filter, hundreds of tubes are bundled together to create a filter matrix. The walls of these tubes are filled with microscopic pores, or holes. As you push water through the walls of these fibers, any microbiological threats in the water source are trapped inside. The best thing about the MAX is that it connects to anything with a simple "click" and it accepts an array of Aquamira Series IV filters so that you can customize your system for whatever environment you find yourself in. It even comes with a patented Bite Me valve that converts the MAX to a filter straw with the same simple "click". Nothing is more versatile, nothing provides more protection, and nothing else provides you with certified claims. Anything else is just hype.

Bobby Lane has had a successful 17-year professional fishing career, with numerous wins, including a Redcrest Championship. However, a victory in his home state of Florida has eluded him. A Fat, Joyful Toy: Atomic Bent Chetler 120 Ski Review
I’m at a private backcountry ski operation near Ogden, Utah. The snow is so deep that the cat operator can barely make it to the top of our first run. Our guide directs us to a steep, treed, avalanche-controlled slope. I click into the 2025 Atomic Bent Chetler ($1,025), and within moments, I am floating and whooping through the light...
Range Rover Launches Fashion Apparel: ‘London Collection’
If James Bond had a Hot Wheels collection, he probably wouldnt miss out on the limited-edition sculptures just dropped by Range Rover. Hed be obligated to buy in, really, given the iconic vehicles placement in No Time to Die. And since hes a globe-trotting super spy, he likely wouldnt blink at paying $563 just for an all-aluminum version of a...

The king of special editions is at it again. The latest limited-edition Jeep Wrangler is called the 4xe Backcountry, and it adds some off-road goodies to the Sahara trim. Its a bit of a puzzler, because while it comes with some parts you almost definitely want, it is missing some of the Rubicons best. And, its significantly more expensive than...

National Park Visitors Should “Lower Your Expectations” This Summer
By now youve probably heard about the staffing crisis gripping Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the nations other national parks. The move generated headlines in national and local publications alike, and over the weekend, dozens of recently fired NPS...
Zero-Drop Trail Runner Gets Durability Upgrade: Altra Lone Peak 9 Review
The snow was slick white on the Rocky Mountain trail in Colorado. It had been packed into a luge-like grade that sloped outward toward some exposed rocky terrain. The February cold pressed in as I hiked in the new Altra Lone Peak 9 shoes. Normally, this time of year, I’d be wearing boots or some sort of traction device, but...

2025 Ioniq 5 Review: Hyundai Heads Off Road With XRT Model
At a time when EV sales have been stagnating, Hyundai somehow keeps building demand. An expanded lineup, with products like the sleek Ioniq 7 and the upcoming three-row Ioniq 9 certainly helps. But, the original Hyundai Ioniq 5 was the primary reason the brand’s U.S. EV sales shot up by 90% in 2024. And the automaker aims to keep that...
You Can Always Crash on My Couch
I left Breckenridge on July 3 and headed west without a plan. I’d crashed the night before with my friend Sorrel, at the mountainside condo she was renting full-time. I was on a seat-of-my-pants road trip around Colorado without a place to sleep on the eve of one of the biggest camping holidays of the year. At a highway rest...

“Hey, does anyone have a knife handy?” The words ring like music to my ears. I pluck the GiantMouse ACE Tribeca from my pocket and feel the still-unfamiliar smoothness of the...
