Haute Route 40
$210.00
Description

The Ortovox Haute Route has been around almost since the birth of ski touring. This enduring classic is perfect for longer ski excursions.

Cordura®, PFC-free double-layered Polyamide 420D Oxford and PU coating on all fabrics make the Haute Route 40 extremely scuff- and water-resistant. This backpack fits perfectly thanks to its load control cords and ergonomically shaped O-Flex-2 back system with S-shaped stabilizer, which distributes weight evenly between the hips and the shoulders, even over lengthy periods. The hip fins connect inside the back system so that they wrap comfortably and seamlessly around the body.

With its larger capacity, the Haute Route 40 has space for all the gear you may need. The spacious main compartment is accessible from the top and back, which means all pack contents will be easily accessible, while a separate safety compartment provides rapid access to emergency equipment. Thanks to the rope attachment on the lid, you can load and unload your rope without having to open the pack. In addition to the crampon fastening, ice axe and hiking pole fastening and fixed helmet net, there are also fasteners for a snowboard or other gear. Skis can be fastened using either the classic or diagonal method.

No matter how long and challenging the tour, the Haute Route 40 will equip you well for any multi-day tour.

Next-Level Ventilation, Versatility: Julbo Launcher Ski Goggles Review
I was cliffed out above 500 feet of exposure, while exploring a new descent that branched off a classic couloir Id skied countless times. To make the situation worse, I was running late, and the afternoon sun was cooking the snow above me.    I hastily transitioned to ski crampons to bootpack up. Thankfully, my Julbo Launcher Reactiv ski goggles had...

Dauntless Manufacturing Resurrects the Classic American Blade: Clifft Bowie Knife Review
It’s a big and impractical knife by today’s standards, but at one point, the Bowie was Americas quintessential outdoor knife. Arguably the first standardized knife design, the original Bowie was forged by blacksmith Jesse Clifft as a commission for Rezin Bowie — brother of the famed American frontiersman, Jim Bowie. History tells us that Jim Bowie used the eponymous knife to...

Antigravity: A 360-Degree Drone Camera That Works Like VR
If theres one thing that often separates science fiction from modern reality, its intuitive interfaces. From Iron Man films to Star Wars to last nights premiere of Alien: Earth, we see characters interacting with technology simply by waving their hands toward a hologram or screen. We know those improvements are just over the technological horizon for consumers, but many of...

Far from the light of a city, I was double fisting flashlights on a dark mountain road. In one hand, the Fenix PD36R Pro, arguably the best flashlight on the market for a few years now.
