Description

The Jade 43 is just what you need for that extra push

Using materials that reduce the environmental impact, a dynamic FreeFloat suspension, and an athletic look and feel, this pack helps you go the extra mile.

  Precise Fit Adjustable Torso

With the ability to fit exactly to your back the adjustable torso length provides 3.5” of adjustment allowing for a custom fit without compromising support.

  Open-air Backpanel

Full-length tensioned mesh creates space between your back and the pack to allow for heat to escape and air to flow freely to cool you down.

  Freefloat Dynamic Hipbelt

Gregory’s patented construction links the hipbelt to the frame with a panel designed to move and flex with your body. The hipbelt design conforms to the shape of your body, seamlessly providing the padding and support needed to carry heavy loads.

  Breathable Shoulder Harness

Constructed from Lifespan foam to provide a generations worth of comfort, the harnesses are perforated to maximize airflow and comfort on the trail

  Perimeter Frame

Designed around the architectural principles of tension and compression, the perimeter frame provides stable, yet flexible support to comfortably carry the load on your back.

The Secret to Better Skiing? Hip Mobility.
If your lower back or knees ache at the end of a long day on the slopes, you may have limited hip mobility. Compromised range of motion in the hips can be “a silent culprit” for pain elsewhere in the body, says Mandie Majerus, a physical therapist with Lake Washington PT in Kirkland, Washington, and co-founder of the Alpine Training...
An Ode to the Outdoorsy Ugg
I recently saw a Reddit thread that started with a deceptively simple question. On the subreddit r/bitcheswithtaste, redditor u/jpcitybit asks: “Are we wearing Uggs this year? I wanted Uggs so badly in high school and never had them but after seeing them come back last year I am considering getting a pair for this fall. Are they back in style...
Am I a Jerk for Not Owning an Electric Car?
Dear Sundog: Am I a jerk for not owning an electric vehicle yet? I live in a city, commute to work, and like to get outside. I have a decent car that gets decent mileage, but feel like I would be doing better for myself and the planet with an EV. Should I buy one? —Looking for Environmental Alternatives that...
Why Athletes Should Think Twice About Vitamin D Supplements
Researchers in Germany recently published one of those studies that, now and then, make me question my core beliefs. I’m a supplement skeptic, but I try not to let that identity prevent me from assimilating new data. And if there’s one supplement whose possible benefits I’ve been on the fence about in recent years, it’s vitamin D. The new study,...

Did Biden Really Protect Our Public Lands? Here’s His Report Card.
On Monday, January 20, the presidency of Joe Biden came to an end. During his four years in office, Biden, 82, focused on issues that impact outdoor recreation, such as the preservation of public lands and conservation. The centerpiece of Biden’s conservation policy was the America the Beautiful Initiative, a commitment to conserve and restore at least 30 percent of...
Extra Sharp: The Best Knives of SHOT Show 2025
Knives may not be the core of SHOT Show, but they still had a huge presence among the firearms and hunting, outdoor, tech, and tactical gear filling the massive convention center in Las Vegas this week. I spent one day rushing among the 55,000 people who packed the trade show to find the cream of the knife crop. Out of...

Plus-Size Women’s Ski Kit, No Fluff: Outdoor Research Women’s Carbide Jacket-Plus Review
No matter how hard I looked, outdoor gear just wasnt made for me. While so many folks donned attractive technical outerwear, I was relegated to so-so products with basic protection against the elements. So I built a brand for plus-size outdoor adventurers. That was 2019. My company, Alpine Parrot — which had a size run of 14 through 30 —...
