Western Mountaineering
Kodiak GWS
$860.00 - $920.00
Description

Roomy wide-cut mummy 0° bag with a Gore Windstopper shell.

The Western Mountaineering Kodiak GWS will fit nearly any bear-sized person with its wide-cut mummy shape, and has a highly water-resistant/breathable Gore Windstopper™ shell for extreme weather protection. This shell is the most water-resistant, windproof, and breathable fabric suitable for sleeping bags, and the down-filled collar and draft tube are also made with GWS to prevent moisture absorption and keep the wind out of your bag. Thirty ounces of premium 850+ down fill this 0° F bag with 7" of loft, and the continuous baffles allow you to shift the down to the underside or top side of the bag, making the Kodiak a versatile champ for any season. The draft tube and the Super Collar are amply filled with down to prevent heat loss around the neck or through the zipper. The Kodiak GWS is your best friend when you need a little elbow room in the most moisture-prone climates. The Kodiak is also available in a 7' length!

Like all of Western Mountaineering's bags, the Kodiak GWS is made by hand in San Jose, California. Their down is sourced from free-range mother geese who are never live-plucked or force-fed.

Footprint sold separately.

Anyone who has played fetch with a dog knows the canine potential for running and jumping—and that a dog’s enthusiasm can outlast your arm. “Dogs use oxygen more efficiently than humans,” says  Dr. RuthAnn Lobos (DVM, CCRT, CVAT) and senior veterinarian at Nestle Purina PetCare. “That increased efficiency gives their muscles the fuel they need for energy and endurance.” And...

Camp Kitchen in a Box: iKamper Aioks Review
Organization is trending in the world of camp kitchens. People are tired of fumbling around for pots and pans so they can cook their kids pancakes by the lake. We searched for, and found, shorts that can handle the...

An Inside Look at Outside’s 2024 Editors’ Choice Testing Trip
When we went hunting for a place to hold our annual Editors’ Choice trip last year, we had a few requirements. It had to be gob-smackingly beautiful. It had to be extremely challenging. And critically, it had to be close to an exceptional post-hike hamburger. Asheville, North Carolina, and its surrounding wilderness hit all three marks. Our gear-bashing extravaganza is...
