Onsight 375 Headlamp - Honnold Edition
$64.95
Description

Customized for the man, myth, legend himself—BD Athlete Alex Honnold—the Onsight is our solution for climbers like Alex whose climbing objectives don’t align with climbing only during the daylight hours. Honnold lives a simple life, so we built Honnold-level simplicity and robustness into every aspect of this light, from the single-button architecture to its fully submersible IP67 waterproof construction.

You’ll first notice the Onsight’s dual-beam configuration, which provides the two main lighting modes climbers need most. The main Climbing Mode was optimized for illuminating the holds or trail directly in front of you with 300 lumens of wide evenly dispersed light that doesn’t glare when you’re looking for the next crimper or small foothold. The secondary Route-Finder Mode adds a powerful, narrow, long-distance beam and increases the total max output to 375 lumens allowing you to spot anchors or search for trails off in the distance.

BD has added dual PowerTap™ technology to easily toggle between Climbing and Route-Finder Modes by touching both the right side and left side of the front housing. Providing flexibility, the Onsight is Dual-Fuel compatible and can be powered with either the rechargeable BD 1800 Li-ion battery (sold separately) or with three standard AAA batteries. The front housing is ultra-thin and has extra articulation built into it, allowing you to get close to the wall and still see everything you need to see around you. At the highest waterproof rating of IP67, this light is fully submersible and dustproof, meaning it’s completely sealed and won’t be fazed if you’re caught out in the rain.

Finally, the battery housing features Honnold’s iconic signature and a percentage of sales from each light goes to the Honnold Foundation, which supports solar energy for a more equitable world.

WARNING for California customers: This product can expose you to chemicals including Bisphenol A (BPA), and Nickel, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

Footprint sold separately.

Can Strength Training Protect You from Running Injuries?
The best way to prevent running injuries isn’t to waste your time stretching or searching for the perfect shoe; it’s to get strong. That’s where the zeitgeist has been headed over the past decade or so, as old ideas about injury prevention have produced disappointing results in studies. The rationale for strength training, by contrast, is seemingly unassailable: injuries occur...
How Foraging Taught Me Middle
It wasn’t crossing over into my forties that felt so unsettling, it was the physical signs—subtle as they were—that made aging bloom into something real and looming. After my fortieth birthday, over the course of two years, my periods became heavier and more painful. Now, at 42, I sometimes spot between cycles. Sometimes my period comes early. Every month, days before...
Appetite for Construction: How Red Bull Rampage Builds the Most Dangerous Bike Jumps in the World
More than 250 million years ago, in the Triassic period, what is now western Utah was a broad coastal flat of the supercontinent Pangaea. The Moenkopi Formation, as it is known, saw five million years’ worth of sedimentary layers—gypsum, siltstone, mudstone—dumped onto the flats by oceans and rivers. Nearly 200 million years later, the gradual seismic uplift of the Colorado...

How Women Respond to Strength Training, According to Science
To keep fit, the Omaha Daily Bee advised back in 1911, women should try “the imaginary motion of lifting a piano” and the real-life challenge of pulling a cork from a bottle. “Hold the bottle between your knees and pull and pull at the tightly driven cork,” the writer advised. Sadly, she didn’t specify how many sets and reps of...
Do You Enjoy Pain? And 86 Other Questions for a Professional Ultrarunner.
I am not that curious about how to get faster as a trail runner, but I am curious about how fast people’s brains work. This Is Your Endurance on Cannabis
The best detail in Christian Cheung’s new study in the Journal of Applied Physiology is the rigorous, Caddyshack-esque screening the subjects had to undergo: a urine test to prove that they did, in fact, use drugs at least once a week. Such is the world of cannabis research, which still tends to make funding agencies and ethics committees a little...
