QuickDraw 1L Filter System
$54.95
Description

The ultralight Platypus QuickDraw 1L Filter System delivers fast and easy filtration and allows users to customize their systems with multi-vessel compatibility to give adventurers the best user experience of any squeeze filter on the market.

The 1L dirty reservoir is light and compact and built to withstand the rugged demands of a months-long thru-hike. Its wide-mouth opening and fill-handle keep your hands dry while you quickly and easily fill up so you can keep moving. On the filter, the dirty-side I/O (inner/outer) threads attach to the QuickDraw reservoir as well as common narrow-mouth bottles like smartwater® and other Platy bottles.

On the clean side, select between the DrinkCap for drinking and pouring and the ConnectCap™ that screws onto narrow-mouth bottles. The system is built to be safe, effortless and long-lasting. Two cleaning methods—shake-to-clean and backflushing—keep the filter flowing fast throughout your trip, while the Integrity Check process allows you to ensure it’s still safely filtering water. With its incredible ease-of-use, packability, and fast-flowing performance, the QuickDraw 1L Filter System is the best squeeze filter for your backpacking trips.

The Most Remote Places to Stay on Earth That Are Worth the Trek
Profound silence on the tundra in sub-Arctic Canada, the gunshot of a calving glacier heard from a tent in Greenlands backcountry, the reflection of snow-crowned peaks in a mirrored lagoon in the high plateau of Bolivia. Some of my most awe-inspiring travel experiences have been in the vast wilderness, where I felt humbled by the scale of time and space...

Video: What Footwear Should You Wear at Mount Everest Base Camp?

Ben brought a ton of outdoor gear with him to test: boots, sleeping bags, parkas, gloves, and other items that are built for the harshest alpine environment. In this video, Ben discusses the footwear that got him through the 11-day trek from Lukla to Base Camp, and also...
8 Great-Looking (and Smooth-Riding) Women’s Running Shoes for Travel
Runners who travel know a packing trick: Instead of cramming our bulky running shoes in our luggage, we wear them. We wear them on planes, trains, and car rides. We wear them to tour cities, countrysides, museums, galleries, and trails. While others suffer from blisters and fatigue in their sandals, loafers, or even stylish hiking boots, we think to ourselves,...
The Volunteers Who Could Save Your Life
When Hurricane Helene hit western North Carolina in the fall of 2024, the damage was devastating. But while most people sought safety, members of the Linville-Central Rescue Squad headed straight into the disaster zone. Technical training and long hours of practice enabled the all-volunteer team to provide critical response and support during the area’s catastrophic flooding. The event was unprecedented,...

In February 2025, two tourists were hiking on a hill in the Czech Republic when they stumbled upon a life-changing find. They noticed a tin can and a metal case tucked within an old manmade wall. Upon pulling them out and opening...

Rescuers believe the medevac mission may be the highest-altitude helicopter evacuation in state history. Lightning Strikes 14er Hikers — While on the Phone With Colorado SAR
The arrival of summer means more hikers seeking high-altitude summits —and more rescues when they get into trouble. That was evident this weekend, when a lightning strike on a couple of Colorado hikers resulted in a high-altitude rescue from some of the states most experienced first responders. The rescue began Thursday evening, June 12, when Colorados Alpine Rescue Team was...
Video: Smart Layering Kept Me Cozy at Mount Everest Base Camp
The trek to Mount Everest Base Camp is the ideal setting to test gear, due to the rugged terrain, tough living conditions, and massive fluctuations in temperature. In May, our reporter Ben Ayers completed the 11-day hike to Mount Everest Base Camp, before spending a month living at 17,500 feet. During his reporting mission, Ayers tested a wide range of...
