Floaty, Poppy, Forgiving: Rome Women’s Ravine Snowboard Review
Snowboards can have strong personalities that make them better at charging, jumping, or pow-slaying. The Ravine is a one-of-a-kind quiver-smasher that excels at all three. This all-mountain snowboard is playful and stable without being overly aggressive. After riding this board for a full year at three ski resorts — through tight trees, moguls, steep groomers, and deep pow plus a...

Industrial-Strength EDC: Leatherman Glider Pocket Knife Review
Heavy. Tough. Rugged. Those arent terms Id often use to describe an everyday carry pocket knife. But in the case of the Leatherman Glider, they feel entirely appropriate. The Glider, while shaped for common EDC tasks, simply feels industrial. It seems built in another era of heavy-duty manufacturing, with everything from deeply engraved USA letters to steel handles oozing machine...
Oiselle High Rise Roga Review: My Go-To Women’s Running Shorts
Im a consistent runner and picky about my gear. I dont have time (or patience) for shorts that creep up, slide around, or dig my midsection into submission. All of this is to say: the Oiselle High Rise Long Roga womens running shorts have officially claimed the top spot in my drawer. After logging about 20 miles of running and...
This Fall Could Bring the Best Northern Lights in Decades. Here’s How to See Them.
If you’ve been waiting to book a Northern Lights trip, it’s time to make it happen. This autumn is expected to kick off one of the strongest aurora seasons in decades—think last year’s low-latitude displays, and potentially even better. That’s because the sun has reached its roughly 11-year peak of activity, known as solar maximum. The bright star causes auroras...

At the age of 45, elite ultrarunner Fernanda Maciel decided to run Spains infamous GR11 trail —alone and unsupported. The route is more than 500 miles, and covers some of the most challenging terrain in the Pyrenees mountains. And Maciel filmed herself the entire way, documenting her journey and her struggles. In the new short film from The North Face,...
Refined Restomod Gets Turbo Power: EMC G-Wagon Wolf Review
When Expedition Motor Company (EMC) originally started building G-Wagen Wolf restomods, the engine stood out as the only cause for customer hesitation. The diesel inline-five on offer delivered plenty of character but a total lack of top-end power. Highway speeds, therefore, presented something of a struggle, despite all the other updates that totally transformed this former military vehicle. Now, EMC...
Straight Track, Speedy Glide: Red Paddle Co. Sport MSL 800 Inflatable Standup Paddleboard Review
The western red cedar and hemlock forest was peacefully quiet, almost eerie. Propelling our standup paddleboards smoothly through the undisturbed water, my partner and I reached a narrow inlet lined with vibrant green bur-reed and lily pads. It looks like we can get through! I exclaimed. Shallow and crystal clear, we could see a rainbow of rocks atop the lake...
