Western Mountaineering
SummerLite
$460.00 - $495.00
Description

  Fully featured and super-light; 32° F

Weighing in at just 1 lb 3 oz, the SummerLite is the lightest continuous-baffle sleeping bag that Western Mountaineering makes. These baffles allow you to regulate the temperature of the bag by shifting the down on top of you in colder temperatures, or underneath you when things warm up, making for a very versatile summer bag. Hard to believe in a bag this light, but the SummerLite even comes with a full length zipper and an insulated draft tube for extra protection from the elements. Western Mountaineering designed this bag for the lightweight fanatics who have provided them with feedback, criticism, and motivation to continue producing the lightest down products available.

Like all of Western Mountaineering's bags, the SummerLite is made by hand in San Jose, California. Their down is sourced from free-range mother geese who are never live-plucked or force-fed.

Footprint sold separately.

Best Bang for Your Buck: DSG Bexley 3.0 Ripstop Tech Hunting Pants Review
Finding womens hunting pants that actually fit and perform can be a nightmare. With even minor shifts in weight, many women are left scrambling to figure out what new pair will fit where their former pair no longer does. This is the path that led me here. Enter the DSG Bexley 3.0 Ripstop Tech Pants: The Bexley is the most...
‘Dirty Dozen’ Redux: Timor Heritage Field WWW Watch Review
The term “homage” stirs many emotions in the watch world. These watches pay tribute to an icon or borrow heavily from a classic design. Take the Rolex Submariner. It’s a timepiece that launched a thousand tool watches. The diver theme inspired some versions. Others clearly copy from the Crown’s design sheet. Distinguishing the threshold between the two? Well, therein lies...
Let Us Debate the Latest Controversy over Ski Resort Parking
On Friday, March 22, skiers in Colorado were greeted by eye-popping news. Arapahoe Basin, a ski area that has long cultivated an anti-corporate and renegade reputation, has enacted a paid parking reservation system for the 2024-25 season. Visitors driving to the mountain on peak days next year will need to pay $20 and reserve a parking spot prior to arrival,...
This Marine Put Everything He Knows About Foot Comfort Into Timberland PRO Anti-Fatigue Technology
“If you take care of your feet, your feet take care of you,” the drill instructor screamed. It was 1982, and Steve Ammon was on the first of many forced marches as part of his training to become a Marine. True to that sentiment, for over 20 years the Timberland PRO AFT Design Director has been making feet more comfortable with...
Seeing Ain’t Believing: ‘Invisibility Shield’ Launches On Kickstarter
While trawling the infinite wares on display at Kickstarter, buried deep down the scroll, a campaign caught my eye. Not only did it bear an unusual thumbnail image — a mans torso apparently floating over the horizon —  but its simple, unmistakable product name left me speechless: Invisibility Shield 2.0. My first thought, theres an invisibility shield? was quickly replaced by,...
The Best Tactical Knives of 2024
If I were asked what knife brands were known for their tactical knives, I would blurt out Spyderco and Cold Steel without even having to think about it. Spyderco has knives named Military 2, Para Military, and Police 4 Lightweight where Cold Steel likes to fly a little more under the radar with knives like the Warcraft Tanto, Double Agent,...
Invisibility Shield, Sugar Cane Surf Shoes, Everyday Hydration, and More Emerging Gear
After this years solar eclipse on April 8, it wont be visible again in the U.S. until 2044. That should probably excite more of us than it does, but given the state of the world these days, a little ennui isnt too surprising. Thankfully, weve got nature to give us perspective — and the sweet gear we use along the...
The Best Percussion Massagers of 2024
Whilefoam rollersare great, it’s hard to beat the healing power of a massage.Over the past five or so years, percussive therapy has changed how gym-goers and physical therapists treat soreness and chronic pain and relieve the buildup of lactic acid. Best of all, quality percussion massagers (a.k.a. massage guns) are a portable, powerful, one-time investment. Percussion massagers are a staple...

It’s hard to beat the fun of adventuring with your four-legged friend. But the extra gear requirements can add up. This is where a good dog backpack comes into play. Backpacks for dogs are more than cute accessories — they allow your pooch to haul necessities like food and water. From dog saddlebags to dog backpack harnesses, there is a...
Overlander and Hunter Weighs In: Not Anti-Access, but Pro-Habitat
Recently, I decided to count the four-wheel-drive vehicles I’ve owned over the last 45 years. The total came to 13, beginning with a 1973 FJ40 Land Cruiser (which I still have) and continuing on through other Toyotas, several Land Rovers, and a Ford or two. I’ve used those vehicles to explore, hunt, and fish on BLM, National Forest, and National...

Its only been a year since SRAM broke the rear derailleur paradigm with its direct-mount Transmission. The evolutionary design caused commotion, speculation, and a flurry of both fanatics and naysayers. Mounted to the rear of some of the slickest bikes in the business, the Transmission ushered in a new standard for SRAM groupsets and the cycling industry. The Chicago-based brand...
