Description

Versatility that is head and shoulders above other shoulder-season tents:

  Engineered for end-of-season weather…

  • Dry setup and takedown (put up the rainfly first / take it down last to keep the inner tent dry)

  • Quick Connect Foot System (attach the pole and the inner tent easily, even while wearing gloves)

  • Fabric inner tent (prevents cold drafts from robbing you of warmth inside the tent)

  • Uprated floor (waterproof performance for wet, boggy conditions)

  Perfect for warmer-weather use, too…

  • Roll back the rainfly all the way to the Tension Ridge for stargazing, or redeploy the rainfly from inside the tent if the weather changes

  • Hangout Mode turns your tent into a spacious, semi-open shelter that opens up a world of possibilities for social camping situations.

  • Made for 3+ Seasons with a fabric inner tent which keeps out cold drafts. Plus a higher-specification waterproof floor, suitable for the wetter ground conditions.

  • Tension Ridge™ raises the tent’s shape upwards for more usable head-and-shoulder space and creates truly higher doors for easier entry and more vestibule storage.

  • Color-coded ultra-strong lightweight DAC NSL two-hub poleset and quick connect pole feet make for easy setup.

  • Made for longevity and to be waterproof by using premium materials including DAC poles, YKK zippers, 7-series aluminum hardware and seam-taped PeU-coated rainfly.

  • Hangout Mode™ converts rainfly into semi-open shelter. Requires a pair of trekking poles or Hangout Mode Pole Set (sold separately).

  • FairShare™ storage system: tent packs into 3 stuff sacks to split the load. After set-up, stuff sacks transform into gear storage pockets.

  • Lightbar™: add a headlamp and secure the tent pole storage sack to the apex of the tent for soft even illumination (headlamp not included).

  • Rainfly can be setup first for a dry setup and takedown.

  • Includes 8 Ground Control Light Tent Pegs and 4 removable Ground Control Guy Lines with custom attachment toggles.

  • To extend the life of your tent floor we recommend using a Sea to Summit footprint - sold separately.

  Construction and Materials:

-- The 6” deep 30D nylon tub floor is rated to 8000mm hydrostatic head – ideal for wet and boggy conditions.

-- Lightweight 20D ripstop nylon inner tent fabric keeps out drafts and spindrift.

-- Silicone / Polyether Polyurethane-coated 15D nylon rainfly fabric provides long-lasting waterproof performance.

-- The poles of the Tension Ridge™ are swept upwards – not angled downwards as is common in tents. This raises the tent’s shape, providing significantly more livable space.

-- Apex Vent™ - at the highest point of the tent, this oversized vent efficiently expels warm air to prevent condensation and can be easily zipped shut from inside the tent.

-- Baseline Vents allow you to control airflow and effectively manage humidity and condensation in wet conditions without letting the rain in.

-- Quick Connect Foot is a beautifully designed, machined aluminum clip that attaches the pole and the inner foot with ease and is stronger than plastic buckles that can break.

Is Ski Racing Viable in a Warming World?
Glaciers shrinking in Europe are no secret, especially to ski racers. Just eight years ago, U.S. speed skier Sam Morse remembers training on a glacier above Zermatt. When the training session ended, he skied on the glacier all the way down to the cable car’s mid-station and downloaded to town from there. Now, the glacier no longer reaches the mid-station....
10 Reasons Why You Should Only Date Climbers
Back before climbing went mainstream (Olympics, gyms, Hollywood documentaries, Jared Leto, yippee!), we climbers were known for our social awkwardness and unapologetic penury. The community was an eclectic mix of rule-following problem-solvers (e.g., mathematicians and engineers) and barely functioning societal dropouts who survived on peanut butter and ramen while sleeping in caves, stripped-down cargo vans, or passenger cars with plywood...
Gravel Brands Are Failing Women Riders
Every single bike brand will tell you that more women on bikes is an important goal. Then many of those same brands will offer smaller bikes with build kits, specifically handlebars, that aren’t appropriate for smaller riders. The practice is even more common in the world of gravel cycling. The details that set the stage That’s the gist of the...
For the Love of Hiking, It’s Time We All Stopped Cutting Switchbacks
In early August, on the shoulder of Colorado’s highest peak, 14,439-foot Mount Elbert, I suddenly found myself unable to do anything except apologize. I had started up the mountain so early that morning you could still call it night, hiking the remote Black Cloud Trail that leads to Elbert’s southeast ridge. The trail was lit by so many stars I sometimes...
The Most Popular All-Terrain Tire Just Got Better
Next time you drive anywhere—to work, school, your local ski area—check the tires on the vehicles around you and more than likely you’ll see a set of BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrains (ATs) rolling by. Long loved for their performance and looks, the KO2 is the most ubiquitous all-terrain tire on the market, and for good reason. Made to perform well in...
Stormproof Ski Shell for Backcountry or Resort: Arc’teryx Sabre Freeride Jacket Review
A mild morning on the skin track had turned into an afternoon of whipping wind and freezing mist at the resort. Frozen rime covered everyone’s helmets. I pulled the hood of my Arc’teryx Sabre Jacket up against the blasting gusts and chill at the summit. We pushed past the top of the lift through a stand of pine trees to...

When it comes to home gyms, floor space is a precious commodity. The BowFlex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells happen to be somewhat of a Swiss Army knife for strength training. Alone On Everest, Alpinist Sets Frigid, Improbable Record
No one has ever climbed Mount Everest quite like this. He hasnt summited yet, but a German alpinist is making headway on one of climbings most daunting feats. Jost Kobusch just reached a milestone on an ambitious — and highly dangerous — project on the worlds highest mountain. The 32-year-old aims to scale Mount Everest alone in winter, and without supplementary...
Flashlight Like Few Others Has ‘Digital Zoom’: Fenix LD45R Review
Press a button and rotate a wheel, and the Fenix LD45R flashlights beam of light smoothly adjusts from a tight beam to a broad floodlight. Sure, zooming flashlights may seem like old news on the surface. But inside the LD45R is a new technology, unlike anything Ive ever used. Thats because the LD45R doesnt have any moving internal parts. Instead...
Montana Sues Park Service Over Yellowstone National Park Bison Plan
Montana state officials have already made a New Years resolution: Sue the federal government. In a lawsuit filed on Dec. 31, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte accused the U.S. National Park Service (NPS) of violating established agreements for managing bison. Federal wildlife officials have ignored Montanas concerns about increased numbers of bison, the lawsuit said, and also avoided vaccinating the animals...
