Crag Hauler 40
Wild Country
Crag Hauler 40
$199.95
Description

Sitting by the door or in the back of the van, this is the pack you never really empty. It’s always packed and ready to head out – whether for a day of desert sandstone splitters or a trip to your favorite limestone sport crag.

The Wild Country Crag Hauler 40 is a tough, durable haul-bag inspired, self-standing pack with the capacity to go anywhere. Engineered for best-in-class durability with haul bag tarpaulin, reinforced ripstop nylon and bombproof YKK® zippers. The nylon roll top closure has an additional PFC-free Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment to make the pack water resistant. Ease of use and versatility is the name of the game here, thanks to the wide-opening funnel shaped roll-top flap that packs away quickly and the top flap closure that also doubles as a rope fixation. For a more stable carry, the lateral compression straps also work as rope stabilizers or can be hidden away when not in use for a sleeker look.

The Crag Hauler 40 offers big volume to stash all your gear, while the self-standing design means that you can chuck kit straight in when you’re in a hurry. The large full length J-shaped front zip ensures easy access all the way down into the bottom of the pack. And there’s a roomy front compartment for your guidebook, lunch, tin whistle, etc., a secure mesh pocket for valuables or your phone, plus internal loops for gear storage for items you want to be able to find fast.

The dual-density padded backpanel guarantees optimum comfort – so you won’t feel your Rocks or Friends sticking into your back. And the padded shoulder straps with adjustable load lifters and padded hip belt ensure a comfortable carry.

A Life-Changing Ski Adventure
Struggling with exhaustion, I attempted to hoist myself up out of deep snow after a fall. Beads of sweat dripped down my face as I spotted my guide, Kris Robinson, waiting patiently below. Unable to muster more strength, I sank down and took a moment to absorb the vastness of Canada’s Columbia Mountains. Then I radioed Kris for help. “Cross your...

It’s Time to Ban Campfires for Good
In 2022, 68,988 wildfires in the United States burned 7.6 million acres, and the federal government ran up a $3.5 billion suppression tab. In 2023, our forests fared a little better: nearly 56,000 fires burned 2.6 million acres. These fires destroyed communities, killed firefighters and civilians, and triggered numerous forest, national park, and BLM land closures across the west. Wildfire, of...

The KUIU Storm Star 2 Tent Shines, Regardless of Weather
All-season tents can make or break a late-season backpack hunt. Ive avoided the activity for the majority of my hunting ventures for the sake of weight. Tents capable of resisting the elements are certainly not lightweight, and when Im trudging through snow, I dont want to be weighed down by the extra bulk of my camp. Not only that, but...

Reserve Now: These National Parks Require Timed Entry Reservations for 2024
Wallace Stegner famously said, National parks are the best idea we ever had. Absolutely America, absolutely democratic, they reflect us at our best rather than our worst. Anybody whos ventured into one of Americas popular National Parks in the last few years knows that besides being our best idea, they might also be our most popular (rock and roll excluded)....
