Cleaning: the anodized surface would be damaged by the cleanser used in dishwashers; therefore Alpha Cookware should not be washed in a dishwasher.
Stove Use: Domestic stoves have a much higher output than backpacking stoves. If Alpha Cookware is used with a home stove, the flame setting should be kept low, and care should be taken to ensure that the pot does not boil dry.
Use over an open fire: Alpha Cookware is not designed for use over an open fire. The release for the pivot lock handle is made of nylon, and this can be damaged if flames come up the side of the pot or pan.

National Park Pass ‘Stickergate’: Creative Workarounds Find New Ways of Covering Controversial Redesign
The reaction to the 2026 National Park annual passes has been mixed, to say the least. When the Interior Department released its new design in November, many longtime passholders were surprised. There was no native flora and fauna, which had long dominated the passes aesthetic design. Instead, the passes included a photo of President Trump next to a portrait of...
This App Covers the Full Cost of Any Emergency Rescue — And It’s Cheaper Than Netflix
A satellite device with an SOS function is an important piece of gear in the wilderness. In the event of an emergency, however, pressing that SOS button is just the beginning. Search and rescue operations can be extremely complicated and cost thousands of dollars. Thats where Overwatch x Rescue (OxR) comes in. This new satellite app promises not only to...

How to Choose a Yoga Mat
Yoga mats may be similar in dimensions and thickness, but theyre not all the same. Just as there are numerous styles of yoga, there are also variations in mats, and what works well for you may not be ideal for someone practicing right next to you. You might need a highly portable mat for travel, or youre looking for extra...
Packable, Sturdy, But Pricey: Hunt Arsenal ICON X20 Climbing Stick Review
For many modern whitetail hunters, mobility has become the name of the game. Permanent blinds are warm and cozy, and comfortable padded ladder stands are a great place to spend a morning. But those comforts are limited to those with private land access, and they don’t allow you to adjust on the fly with changes in deer behavior. For those...
Simple, Affordable, Effective: Kings Camo XKG Leg Gaiters Review
Sometimes, it makes sense to invest in a logo. Other times, it doesnt. Gaiters are one area where I want simple, effective, and affordable gear. I know theyre going to wear out and need replacing, no matter how much I spend. I had a chance to test the Kings Camo XKG Leg Gaiters in South Dakota, and they made me...

Camping comfortably as a chronic side sleeper can feel like an impossible mission. I’ve searched far and wide for a sleeping setup that could keep up with my tossing and turning, but the challenge persisted. Enter the Kelty Lowdown Cot ($150). Tiny but mighty, this cot has earned a place in my ever-growing gear closet. It’s not only comfortable for...
EDC Knife Thinner Than Your Wallet: Vosteed Parallel Review
I constantly wear joggers and lightweight pants that many would classify as athleisure. These are softshell-style pants, offering little by way of rigidity for carrying a knife. But as an EDC aficionado, I wont go anywhere without a knife. Wallet, keys, phone, knife —a good setup, but heavy on the pockets. This has left me on the hunt for a...
Heavy Metal: REP x PÉPIN FAST Series Adjustable Dumbbell Review
Adjustable dumbbells are an excellent way to save space in your home gym. But buying adjustable dumbbells means making some compromises. Often, adjustable dumbbells come in odd shapes, fail to distribute weight evenly, or have plastic components that can affect durability. The REP x PÉPIN FAST Series Adjustable Dumbbell ($1,500 for a 125-pound pair) appears to buck this trend, featuring...
Virtual Cycling Treasure Hunt: Explore MyWhoosh, Win Bitcoin
Theres no telling where youll find cryptocurrency these days. I spent some of my winter break hiking near the small town of Brevard, N.C., where I was surprised to see a Bitcoin ATM advertised on the sign of a gas station that looked like it was built in the 1960s. A quick Google search shows about a half dozen such...
