Ascent 32 (Spring 2023)
$127.50
Description

The Ortovox Ascent 32 is a very lightweight, technical ski touring pack for demanding days in the mountains.

Ortovox's ski tour backpacks are getting reinforcements: The ultralight and technical Ascent 32 is perfect for demanding days in the mountains. That’s why they have focused on what’s important and thought through every detail.

This backpack is abrasion-resistant but still extremely light thanks to the nylon 100D Robic Ripstop. Despite this reduction in weight it still has high wear comfort: The foamed 3D back system distributes the weight evenly between the hip fins and the padded shoulder straps. Features such as the circular zipper that provides quick access to your equipment, a map compartment, hydration system compatibility, as well as a diagonal ski attachment, an ice axe holder and a rope fastening, make the backpack what it is: a technical, ultra-lightweight backpack for challenging ski tours.

The Ascent 32 also includes an emergency card: in the case of an emergency, the card provides information about the injured person and therefore allows for faster and more efficient treatment.

Note: On-model product images are of the Ascent 22.

A Colorado Company Wants to Change the Way Hikers Poop in the Backcountry
This past summer, hikers on Colorados highest peak, 14,438-foot Mount Elbert, were met by a peculiar welcome committee. Volunteers from Colorado Fourteeners Initiative handed out WAG bags near a padlocked receptacle marked “human waste pack-out bags only.” On some days, a researcher from Penn State University stopped visitors to ask questions about—you guessed it—poop. Called Clean 14, the infrastructure was...
