Barryvox Package Light

Description

Extremely reliable beacon with lightweight shovel and probe

When every gram counts. The Mammut Barryvox Package Light is a weight-optimized set of avalanche equipment for freeriding, off-piste runs or ski touring. It contains the digital 3-antenna Barryvox® avalanche transceiver, the lightweight avalanche Probe 240 short and the small, compact Alugator Light avalanche shovel. The Barryvox scores well on extremely simple navigation and clear instructions. The aluminum avalanche Probe 240 short is safe and easy to use, even when wearing gloves. And the packing volume and weight are reduced to the minimum with the Alugator Light avalanche shovel, which features a blade made of hardened, anodized aluminum. Feel safe out in the snow.

This generation of Barryvox beacons continues the faultless reliability that the previous avalanche transceivers were known for. At the same time, Mammut has incorporated some major enhancements in terms of usability and performance. This beacon combines a highly powerful search with intuitive handling to help you find buried subjects quickly, easily and reliably.

The 2025 Sweat Science Summer Book List
According to Shakespeare, there are lessons and stories everywhere in nature—or, as he puts it, books in the running brooks, tongues in trees, and sermons in stones. I’m down with that idea. But in case the running brooks aren’t meeting your educational needs this summer, here are some suggestions for actual books to tuck into your backpack. (You can also...

‘The Last Dive’ Follows a Diver’s 20-Year-Long Friendship with a Giant Manta Ray
Sailors have been known for telling tall tales. So when Terry Kennedy, a now 83-year-old sailor, would talk about swimming with his friend off Mexico’s remote Revillagigedo Islands in the late 1980s, it’s understandable why some questioned if it was all  true. The charismatic friend he was always going on about was, after all, a 22-foot giant manta ray. This...
