Win a Custom 2024 KTM 300 XC-W Trail Bike and Matching Camper!
The Colorado Trail Preservation Alliance (TPA) is a nonprofit organization that advocates for Off-Highway-Vehicle (OHV) recreation to ensure that the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) reserve a fair percentage of access to trail riding on public lands in some of the most desirable states for those activities. The TPA also educates riders on trail etiquette...
A Lightweight Winter Companion: KUHL Spyfire Parka Review
Its pretty annoying when I need to wear a winter parka on a flight because it does’t fit in my suitcase. I could leave it at home and make do. But freezing in the Swiss alps only makes it memorable for the wrong reasons. I was happy to stumble upon the KUHL Spyfire Parka, an 800-fill winter jacket that can...
The Best Bike Helmets of 2024
Whether you simply enjoy getting your bike out for a weekend cruise or are a bonafide, road, gravel, or mountain biker with a garage full of bikes, the simple truth is this — you need a bike helmet. They are vital to staying safe and protecting yourself while you’re on the bike, regardless of surface or riding style. Safety is...
You Can’t Handle an Adventure Dog
I had just clipped the third bolt on a warm up route at a crag called The Shire when I heard the shouting below me. The ruckus shattered the idyllic quiet of a Kentucky spring day at the Red River Gorge, one of America’s most iconic climbing areas. I glanced down to find my belayer yelling at another party. Unbeknownst...
Fatal Indoor Climbing Accident Claims Life of Gym Worker
Climbers understand that there is inherent risk in their beloved activity. But when an experienced, and especially a professional, climber falls to their death inside a gym, it can be even more shocking and feel more tragic. On Tuesday, May 21st, Lee Hansche, 46, of Allenstown, N.H., fell to his death while climbing in the Vertical Dreams climbing gym in...
Giro Owen Spherical Helmet Review: A Premium Sleek, Warm Ski Helmet
It isn’t necessary to get the most expensive ski and snowboard helmet with all the best features. But you do need one that is comfortable enough for you to enjoy while you wear. New for the 23/24 season, the Giro Owen Spherical has yet to disappoint me in testing when it comes to a helmet that has zero pressure points...
Meet Ollie: Dog Food Made Fresh, Delivered to Your Door
Take the concept of a fresh food delivery service and extend it to dogs. Thats the idea behind Ollie foods. Ollie bakes fresh meals and snacks at low temperatures to preserve nutrients. Uniquely, it creates a meal plan of these foods based on your dogs breed, age, weight, and lifestyle. We know active dogs need more calories. But how much...
This Shelter Shoulders All Seasons: MSR Access 2 Tent Review
With 40mph winds blasting my face, I jumped into the flapping tent, desperate to get shelter from the snow pellets hitting my forehead. As I struggled to attach the poles to the inside of the tent, I thought: there must be a better way.     For most of my winter and spring ski trips, I’ve used a single-wall tent such as...
An Instagram Star Did a Backflip on the Top of Mount Everest
Over the years, climbers have transformed the summit of Mount Everest into a concert venue, a nudist colony, and even a frisbee launchpad. But prior to this week, nobody to our knowledge had used the worlds highest point as a trampoline. That changed when an American climber named Devon Levesque executed a backflip on the summit on Tuesday, May 21. Levesque,...
