Haute Route 38 S
$210.00
Description

The Ortovox Haute Route has been around almost since the birth of ski touring. This enduring classic is perfect for longer ski excursions.

Cordura®, PFC-free double-layered Polyamide 420D Oxford and PU coating on all fabrics make the Haute Route 38 S extremely scuff- and water-resistant. This backpack fits perfectly thanks to its load control cords and ergonomically shaped O-Flex-2 back system with S-shaped stabilizer, which distributes weight evenly between the hips and the shoulders, even over lengthy periods. The hip fins connect inside the back system so that they wrap comfortably and seamlessly around the body. The Haute Route 38 S has a specially designed shortened back system for smaller people.

With its larger capacity, the Haute Route 38 S has space for all the gear you may need. The spacious main compartment is accessible from the top and back, which means all pack contents will be easily accessible, while a separate safety compartment provides rapid access to emergency equipment. Thanks to the rope attachment on the lid, you can load and unload your rope without having to open the pack. In addition to the crampon fastening, ice axe and hiking pole fastening and fixed helmet net, there are also fasteners for a snowboard or other gear. Skis can be fastened using either the classic or diagonal method.

No matter how long and challenging the tour, the Haute Route 38 S will equip you well for any multi-day tour.

The S-Works Crux stands as the gravel and cyclocross version of Specializeds most technically advanced bike — the Aethos. It is unbelievably lightweight at 15.9 pounds (56cm, no pedals). And the bike promises a unique ride quality similar to the Aethos....

Algae-Core Skis Are Full of Surprises: WNDR Nocturne 88 Review
By ignoring obvious warning signs, I found myself staring down 3,000 vertical feet of nasty breakable crust in Colorado’s San Juans last spring. Optimistically hoping for lap after lap of spring corn harvesting, I grabbed one of the skinnier skis I’ve been testing — WNDR’s Nocturne 88. The descent was downright horrifying. Thankfully, there was a lot more to the...

Its appropriately named, she told GearJunkie with a wry smile. It is...
2025 Subaru WRX tS First Drive Review: Almost an STI
The current Subaru WRX debuted in 2022 but hasn’t resonated with buyers as much as previous iterations, and there’s no higher-performance STI variant as in the past.
