CAMP
M30 Pack
$209.95
Description

30 liters is a great size for one-day excursions in the backcountry, leaving room for the essentials but cutting the weight of excess capacity. The CAMP M30 incorporates many of the unique features found in the CAMPack range like the Full BackDoor panel that allows access to the contents of the pack without having to remove everything on top before gaining access to gear at the bottom.

Comfort is assured by the XAir ventilated back with a 3 mm aluminum wire frame and breathable, ergonomic shoulder straps. The padded waist belt is removable for technical activities. It features one zippered pocket and one gear loop. The innovative Balance System uses the same two straps on the top of the shoulders to simultaneously adjust, compress and stabilize the load by pull from the bottom of pack instead of the top.

The removable lid features a large main compartment on top and a smaller compartment on the bottom for valuables. A protective cover can be pulled out to cover the top of the pack when the lid is removed. Additional technical features include two technical ice axe holders with head locker system and elastic cords, reversible ski carrying straps that can also be used to carry a snowboard or hidden when not in use, an external helmet carrying system that can be hidden when not in use, hydration bladder compatibility, and large elastic zip pockets on the inside of the main compartment for extra organization.

Footprint sold separately.

Leatherman Just Dropped Its First Premium Knives
Ask me which brand of multitool you should buy, and there’s only one answer I’m going to give you: Leatherman. Not only did the Portland, Oregon-based manufacturer invent the segment in 1975, but it continues to make the highest quality, most innovative tools out there. Now, with its first range of quality blade-only knives, Leatherman hopes to put something simpler...
The Coolest Gear We Saw at OMA’s Summer 2025 Media Show
Every year, Outside’s gear team heads to Outdoor Market Alliance in Lakewood, Colorado, to get a glimpse at the new gear headed to the North American market. Much of what we get our hands on is headed for shelves in a few months for the fall season. Some of it, though, is a glimpse at next summer’s offerings, giving is...
This Colorado Town Just Bought Its Ski Area From Corporate Ownership
In a ski industry era dominated by acquisitions and the slow-but-steady march of conglomerates like Vail Resorts and Alterra Mountain Company, it’s easy to assume the next resort to change hands will be swept into another megapass portfolio. But today’s news? It flips the script. The town of Nederland, Colorado—population 1,500—is buying Eldora Mountain from POWDR. Watch: This Is What...
Mosquitos Nearly Ruined My Eastern Sierra Backpacking Trip—But This $11 Lotion Saved the Weekend
A few weeks ago, I ventured up to the Eastern Sierra for a quick backpacking trip. I’m no backpacking expert — I’ve only been on a couple trips in my life — but I am a gear nerd, so my packing list was comprehensive. I packed spare trash bags to keep things dry in case of rain and I had...
Scientists Reveal That a Popular Backpacking Lake Is Chock-Full of Poop
Last fall, scientists from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) revealed that a popular lake in Wyoming’s Wind River Range is contaminated with human feces. And not just contaminated, but the most heavily contaminated lake out of nearly 1,000 lakes surveyed across the United States. Look up a picture of Lonesome Lake, and you may be surprised. It doesn’t look like...
I’ve Been Running—and Sweating Profusely—for More Than 40 Years. These Are the Best Hot-Weather Shorts I’ve Ever Owned.
If, like me, you’re a ridiculously heavy sweater, you may have been told after a run: “You look like you jumped in a pool.” And if you’ve been paid that compliment, you’re in luck, because the Ciele ATShort is designed for exactly that—dipping in a pool or a lake during or after a run—so they are exceptionally adept at managing...

An Ode to the Small But Mighty Wet Wipe
I recently took an informal inventory of my gear to try and figure out what piece I’ve used the most over the past three months. A favorite pair of Altra running shoes and a Salsa bike were near the top, but as I finished the tally, it became clear that individually sealed wipe packets, like those from Dude Wipes and...
