Peak Light 30 S (Fall 2022)
Ortovox
Peak Light 30 S (Fall 2022)
$135.00
Description

Great alpine challenges are calling you this season. Whether on Dent Blanche surrounded by its mighty glaciers or on the protruding Weisshorn in the Valais Alps – the Ortovox Peak Light is THE companion for demanding alpine tours. It is extremely lightweight, technical, and even more functional with the new SWISSWOOL TEC knit back system.

The Peak Light 30 is Ortovox's alpine lightweight made for demanding alpine tours. This pack is very robust yet incredibly light thanks to the use of the extremely tear- and abrasion-resistant material Nylon 420D Oxford. This Nylon fabric is one of the lightest materials that Ortovox uses for their backpacks. The material is also PU-coated and thus water-resistant.

The triangular construction of the lid allows for variable adjustment with rope fastening without slippage. The lid is completely removable or storable in the main compartment. When stored in the main compartment, the lid’s zipper can still be easily opened. The lid compartment has two sections. Taped seams make the lid completely waterproof.

For the Peak Light, Ortovox has concentrated on the important features and dispensed with anything unnecessary. Of course, the Peak Light has all the important features such as a rope and ice axe fixation, load control cords, helmet net, material loops, hip pocket, a map compartment and the circumferential zipper for quickly accessing the main compartment from the front. Safety equipment is held securely inside thanks to the safety attachment. In addition, the standard Ortovox features include an emergency card, chest strap with signal whistle, compression strap, bright interior color, hydration system compatibility and a ski holder.

These carefully considered features, the low weight and innovative back system make the Peak Light a highly functional alpine tour backpack where doing without means greater functionality.

    SWISSWOOL-TEC-KNIT back system
The SWISSWOOL-TEC-KNIT BACK SYSTEM stands for the innovative synthesis of a TECHNICAL FOAM BACK with HEAT-PRESSED SWISS WOOL covered with a 3D HIGH-TECH KNITTED FABRIC. The wool pads are used in the zones that come into contact with the back, storing large volumes of moisture without feeling wet.

    SCALED DOWN TO REDUCE WEIGHT
The PEAK LIGHT combines STABILITY, WEAR COMFORT and a LIGHT WEIGHT. The total weight of 1100 g* can be reduced by a further 380 g* by simply removing the TOP, HIP FINS, WIRE FRAME FOR THE BACK and other external fastening options. A minimal 720 grams* of weight thus widens the range of use, from long alpine tours to pitch after alpine pitch.

    * +/- 4% due to production and material fluctuations.

I Got a Thai Massage in the Midwest. It Was Nothing Like ‘The White Lotus.’
Free up at least two hours of my afternoon, abstain from eating for an hour prior, wear clothes that allow my full range of motion, and be prepared for a physical and psychological experience. These are instructions I was given before my first Thai massage. The pursuit of this service was admittedly inspired by The White Lotus on HBO. The...
Sitka Studios Wants to Use Cutting-Edge Apparel to Sell You on Conservation
Who makes the most advanced outdoor clothing? Ask a skier or a hiker, and theyre likely to name some familiar brands. Ask a hunter, and they will probably tell you Sitka Gear. This Tiny Ski Bag Is a Game Changer for Parents. It Was Designed by Two Colorado Kids.
I was smoked, shellacked, completely and utterly exhausted. It was a bluebird afternoon in late-March, and I had just finished a full day of skiing with my five-year-old daughter at Colorados Keystone Resort. My lower back throbbed from the several-dozen times Id scooped her up from the snow. Carrying my skis and poles in one hand, her skis under an...

Speedy Sole Meets Snug Support: SCARPA Rush 2 Pro Mid GTX Review
I’m buzzing my way up the cactus- and scrub-lined Lost Mines Trail at Big Bend National Park in Far West Texas in the dark on a mission to make it to the top before sunrise. I break into a trot and hop over a tarantula that crawls out of a hole in the rocks along the path. And I give...

Locals Unified to Fight Homewood Going Private. Will it Save the Resort?
When I drive into the parking lot at Homewood Mountain Resort—a small, beloved ski area on the California side of Lake Tahoe—on a recent sunny morning, the place is deserted. There’s snow on the slopes, but no skiers in sight. The parking lot is empty, save for a few storage containers and idle construction vehicles. The Madden chair, a relic...
Fill Your Own 1-Lb. Propane Bottles at the Station: Ignik Launches ‘TapRack’
A buddy of mine nearly blew his garage up trying to refill his 1-pound propane bottles for his camping grill. Dont be like my buddy. Refilling disposable propane bottles at home is downright dangerous (just ask my buddy) and even illegal in most places due to the hazards. But those classic green bottle propane tanks serve us so well for...
