Sequoia GWS
Western Mountaineering
Sequoia GWS
$920.00 - $960.00
Description

  Semi-rectangular 5° F bag with a GORE® Windstopper™ shell.

The roomy Western Mountaineering Sequoia GWS has a highly water-resistant/breathable Gore® Windstopper™ shell for extreme weather protection. This shell is the most water-resistant, windproof, and breathable fabric suitable for sleeping bags, and the down-filled collar and draft tube are also made with GWS to prevent moisture absorption and keep the wind out of your bag. The full collar completely surrounds your neck and is solidly stuffed with down to provide a protective seal from the heat-robbing bellows effect as you move about inside your bag. The continuous baffles allow you to adjust the down fill to suit the changes in weather, and its two zippers not only allow you to zip to mummy bags but also to unzip the foot so that it can lie out flat. The Sequoia is your best friend when you need elbow room in the most moisture-prone climates.

Like all of Western Mountaineering's bags, the Sequoia GWS is made by hand in San Jose, California. Their down is sourced from free-range mother geese who are never live-plucked or force-fed.

Footprint sold separately.

Jeep Rolls 8.5 Times in Record-Setting ‘Fall Guy’ Movie Stunt
Its now clear that Hollywoods overreliance on computer-generated effects has resulted in a renewed appreciation for old-school movie magic. From Christopher Nolans DIY atomic bomb in Oppenheimer to the gun fu extravagance of the John Wick films, audiences have welcomed the return of practical effects to the big screen. But audiences still want to be wowed, and that means pushing...
Decades-Long Boot ‘Conspiracy’ Resolved: Reinhold Messner Vindicated in Brother’s Death
The original version of this article was published on ExplorersWeb. Reinhold Messner has finally received the second boot of his younger brother Gunther, who died in 1970 on Nanga Parbat. For many mountaineers, it serves as a reminder of the inherent dangers of the so-called Killer Mountain. For Reinhold, its a message Gunther sent from beyond the grave to confirm...

I Photographed Every Mile of the Colorado River. Here’s What I Learned.
On a warm April morning, I gaze at a ghost tree towering above me. Its leafless canopy seems to be staring up as well, in similar disbelief, at the 500-foot-high sandstone cliffs surrounding us. There’s a cluster of 70-foot-tall cottonwoods on this river-bottom spot, dead for decades yet seemingly frozen between the worlds of the living and the dead. Their...
