Today, Full Speed Ahead (FSA) recalled more than 12,000 Gossamer Pro AGX+ cranksets, sold alone and installed on complete bikes. In its recall notice, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) noted the crank arm can come loose and detach, posing a fall or injury hazard to the rider.
The CPSC said it received 277 reports of bicycle crankarms loosening or detaching but no reports of injuries.
Gossamer Pro AGX+ Crankset Recall According to the recall, consumers should immediately stop using bikes equipped with model number CK-6037 Gossamer Pro AGX+ cranksets (1x and 2x). The model and serial numbers are on the back of the bicycle’s crankarm, next to the pedal threads. Importantly, only cranksets with serial numbers beginning with B1, B2, or B3 are included in this recall.
Affected Gossamer Pro AGX+ cranksets were sold individually for $190 and specced on complete bikes from Cannondale, Canyon, Marin, Haro, Fuji, and Pinarello gravel bikes that retailed between $1,700 and $4,000. They were sold between January 2022 and June 2023.
Consumers with recalled cranksets should call FSA at 1-877-743-3372 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday or via email at [email protected] to coordinate a free replacement and dealer installation. Check the FSA recall notice for more information.
