‘DirtHammer’ Online Auction Debuts to Make Buying, Selling UTVs Easier
Oct 30, 2025 6:45 AM

DirtHammer is a new choice for anyone looking to buy or sell a UTV. Its a new auction site dedicated to enthusiast-focused UTVs. Think Bring-a-Trailer for UTVs.

The new site was co-founded by a group that includes two former editors from UTV Driver, and it has a list of investors that includes some big names in motorsports.

  Forget About Online Classifieds

(Photo/DirtHammer) If you want to sell your UTV, the choices are limited. You can deal with Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, and there are a handful of online classified sites like Race-Dezert and ATV Trader.

But none of them are UTV-focused, blurring your side-by-side in with listings for anything from trophy trucks to tired work rigs and even just piles of parts. And none of them gives you the potential for a great deal on a sleeper or a big payday for a hotly contested listing — the ebbs and flows of auctions.

DirtHammer wanted to change that. While the industry as a whole has matured at lightning pace, the infrastructure around buying and selling them hasnt caught up, said co-founder Zach Bowman.

We picked up a few rigs for project vehicles, and the process was the same every time. Sellers are stuck with dealers more interested in selling new vehicles or online marketplaces where their listings get buried under ads for lamps and couches. Buyers are faced with steep asking prices and mediocre listings with few photos and less information.

  DirtHammer Curates Its Online Listings

(Photo/DirtHammer) Like BaT or Cars and Bids, DirtHammer wont list just any UTV. The sites crew wants information and images before they agree to list it. If everything checks out, the machine can go live. Sellers can set a date and reserve price, even a buy it now price. Buyers can do what it is that they do.

Its still very early in the sites life, as it just launched on Oct. 23. To give you an idea of what DirtHammer wants to offer, its first listing is a 2023 Polaris RZR Pro R Troy Lee Designs Edition package. That means the cool blue and orange paint and graphics.

The next one to hit the block is a Can-Am Defender Max with all the options, and there are more RZRs coming along as well as a pair of Kawasaki Teryx KRX4s. But, these are just the beginning.

  No More Still Available? Messages

Investor backers include longtime racer Boris Said and Daytona 500 winner Austin Cindric. The founding team includes powersports journalists Zach Bowman and Aaron Richardson.

For the first 30 days of bidding, DirtHammer is offering some substantial prize packs and discounts with its partners for winning bidders. It also has $49 listing fees for the first 90 days as it looks to grow. DirtHammer is live now, with multiple auctions set to start before the end of the month.
