It took 40 years, but Chrysler finally realized it should embrace the car camping and overland opportunities that its minivans provide. It says its latest concept is perfect for active lifestyle travel, and were here for it.

　　2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Chrysler, which popularized the minivan in North America 4 decades ago. To celebrate the occasion, the company is showing off the Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept.

　　(Photo/Chrysler) “We’ve been following van life for years, and we know adventurers really value the versatility the Pacifica delivers,” said Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand CEO.

　　“Our Chrysler design studio nailed the brief and really dove in. They lifted the suspension, added useful, functional features, including a roof-mounted Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform rack, TYRI LED lighting and ARB retractable awning, and tailored the cabin for sleeping to create this Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept as a test bed. We’re excited to get feedback from the van-life adventurers on our newest concept of the most awarded minivan ever.”

　　(Photo/Chrysler) Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak Concept At its core, the Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept is a 2025 AWD minivan. It has then been upgraded with a suspension lift, as well as larger and more off-road capable all-terrain tires. It also had the third row deleted.

　　Of course, it also has some cool graphic touches inside and out and a bunch of accessories bolted onto it.

　　Exterior Highlights

　　Raised 2.75 inches in front, the Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept rides on 31-inch BFG KO2 tires mounted on 18-inch Foreshadow wheels; (photo/Chrysler) First, lets dive into the exterior modifications to this 2025 Pacifica AWD Limited with the 3.6L V6. With about 380 miles of range on a tank of fuel and 287 horsepower on tap, this minivan is capable of a lot more adventure than most would assume.

　　(Photo/Chrysler) Inside, the Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept gets fewer seats and some cool looks. It also retains all the useful things the Pacific already offers car campers. Think 115V/450W power access in the rear, an integrated center console with tons of storage, a space saver spare tire, a Mopar roadside first-aid kit, and Mopar all-weather floor mats.

　　Maximizing the spacious interior of the Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept, third-row seats are replaced with a large cargo floor panel, ideal for tailoring the cabin for sleeping; (photo/Chrysler) And, of course, loads of useful space for people, stuff, and shelter/sleeping. The third row of seats were removed and replaced with a cargo floor panel, which offers more storage room, and less weight, but also less seating for friends and family.

　　(Photo/Chrysler) This concept should also be able to tow up to 3,600 pounds, in case you cant fit enough gear inside or on the roof rack.

　　Do I wish Chrysler had gone a little further with this concept? Yes, I do.

　　I would have loved to see upgraded shocks, skid plates, rock sliders, a hidden winch, and an elevated sleep platform with storage underneath. But I will say that this concept is pretty rad, easily replicated, and could possibly see production someday.

　　The Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept debuts this weekend (Aug. 22-24, 2025) at Overland Expo Mountain West in Loveland, Colo.
