After podiuming at the Freeride World Tour, Hank Bilous wanted a change of pace. So, he decided to pursue a different passion for a while — medicine — and became a nurse. Both careers require extremely technical skill sets, and both frequently deal with life-and-death risks.
How did he translate his own self-expression from one to the other? And what does that say about who he is?
Those are some of the many deep questions that Bilous poetically wrestles with in the new The North Face (TNF) film, The War on Style. Between segments of hard-core big mountain shredding, surfing, and shots of him in his nurse scrubs at the hospital, the film is a reflection on how we pursue the things we love and the self-expression that comes through that.
