Aspen isnt just some mountain town in the Sawatch Range of Colorado. While fewer than 7,000 residents call it home, Aspen is known around the world as a destination for recreation, splendor, and affluence. It may not cater to everyone, but for those with discerning, high-class taste, the word Aspen rings with posh exclusivity.
Too much? Its hard not to pour on the hyperbole when the eponymous resort has its own luxury timepiece. Launching today, Swiss watchmaker Hublot, in collaboration with Aspen-One (parent company of Aspen Snowmass) unveiled the Big Bang MECA-10 Aspen One, the third installment in the collaborative line.
And its not just a mouthful; its a pocketful. Itll set you back $27,400 to tell time by this special edition wristwatch.

High contrast between the ceramic white bezel and black ceramic case is reminiscent of the striking snow-on-stone views between Aspen and Snowmass mountains.
Mix in the skeletonized construction to show off some of the high-shine titanium elements —a nod to Aspens silver-mining roots —and you have the core DNA of Colorados preeminent ski destination. With the Aspen Leaf logo as the 12 oclock marker, its a sharp-looking, distinctive watch.
As for the horological specs, the Big Bang carries Hublots MECA-10 automatic movement. This is composed of 24 jewels and operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz). The watch measures 45mm in diameter, and the case is 15.95mm thick.

The manual-wind mechanism offers a 10-day power reserve, which is clearly visible through the red-tinted rack-and-pinion power reserve indicator. Its not for every wrist, but if you frequent the silver slopes, the special-edition Big Bang MECA-10 Aspen One is available now.
