Two surfers. Five towns. One electric ride. Welcome to the South Bay Surf Showdown — part surf competition, part relay, all in the name of glory.

　　Local favorite Hunter Jones and NorCal contender Dane Anderson face off in this one-of-a-kind competition. Riding two of Segway’s new Xyber e-bikes, the contestants race more than 11 miles up the coast from Torrance to Playa del Rey, stopping at surfing hotspots along the way to complete increasingly difficult challenges.

The e-bikes 56-mile range lets Jones and Anderson go the distance, while three riding modes — eco, sport, and race — have them covered when every second counts.
