Safe, Affordable, Reliable: UCO’s Whidbey Is Made for Everyone’s Everyday Use
I have been carrying knives on me for most of my life, so I’m comfortable carrying them. I have also chosen the knives I carry based on their form, function, and materials. However, I realize that many people do not carry knives every day and may not know what the right knife is for them. 　　But while there are vast...

Tropical Meets Technical: ‘Town’ Hawaiian Hiking Shirt Review
When I first saw a Town Shirt sun hoodie — with its kaleidoscopic design of pink-and-white mountain laurel — I immediately had to know the brand. 　　Town Shirt was the name, and thru-hiking was its game. This brand combines years of field development with Hawaiian-style designs using flora and fauna native to the ecosystems of Americas most popular thru-hikes. 　　It...
Winch In Your Next PB With the Abu Garcia Revo SX Low-Profile Reel
As summer takes hold, thick vegetation continues to cover my favorite fishing spots. This means I need a rod and reel that can haul in a salad with my fish. However, I don’t fish competitively, so I can’t justify spending a mortgage payment on a reel. Luckily, Abu Garcia sent the Revo SX to test and review this spring and...
Trail Performance, Loungewear Comfort: Black Diamond Alpine Light Pants Review
By the time I stumbled into camp after an 8-hour push over Paintbrush Divide, I was beat — sunburned, salty, and soaked from a combo of sweat and creek crossings. The last thing I wanted to do was change clothes. So, I didn’t. I choked down yet another bar and crawled into my sleeping bag, still wearing the Black Diamond...

2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport Hybrid Review: Off-Road Friendly Enough?
With the passenger rear tire hanging 18 inches off the ground, I slowly — carefully — descend a 30-degree slope. As the view from the windshield shifts from sky to ground, and all four wheels take purchase of the rocky gravel terrain, hill descent control takes over, and the CR-V TrailSport manages the short but steep slope with ease. 　　Yes,...
