Flyer Self-Inflating Sleeping Pad (Spring 2022)
$71.97 - $97.96
Description

Self-inflating baffled air pad for unparalleled comfort

A radical hybrid design in sleeping pads, the NEMO Flyer combines the thickness of an air pad with the plush durability of a foam pad — and with minimal weight consequences. The Flyer is the first pad to use a completely new manufacturing approach that removes 60% of the foam yet tremendously increases thickness and plushness when inflated, producing a 3D-sculpted topology for a faster recovery after a hard day on the mountain.

Footprint sold separately.

An Ode to My Overalls
For six months last year, once a week between May and October, I put on a pair of overalls and played farm girl as a volunteer on a goat dairy near my home in Boulder, Colorado. I’ll soon start shifts for this summer. The experience has taught me a lot: That everything on a farm has a purpose. That nothing...
Big Mountain Descent and Biking Begins
Ultimate Mountain Athlete, presented by the 2024 Toyota Tacoma, returns to the wind-whipped summit of Red Mountain 3, where athletes transition to the Big Mountain Descent. This timed and judged individual run puts points on the line as the athletes—with legs and lungs burning—navigate high-speed lines down nearly 2,000 feet of steep, cliff-lined terrain. Next, the competition moves to lower...
Revamped Iconic Frames and Gold Glass Greatness: Costa Grand Catalina Review
Sporting some killer new options for both frame styles and lens technology, we don’t know whether to be more excited about Costa’s new gold-mirrored lens or revamped Grand Catalina frames. Performance and style-driven, both of these deadly new offerings from Costa are excellent on their own and even better when paired together. Costa has been busy. Just when I thought...
Your Bike Was Stolen. Now What?
It was only a matter of time. After all, my husband and I live in Boulder County, Colorado, one of the bike meccas of the U.S. where the joke is that the bike on the back of the car is often worth more than the car itself—and thieves know it. Besides being a hub for mountain-, gravel-, and road biking, Boulder...
5 Ways to Get Equipped for Off-Road Adventure
It’s no surprise that overlanding is booming—when it comes to outdoor adventure, there’s nothing more accessible. With a few key pieces of gear, you can explore the backcountry and camp in comfort in the most remote places. But that doesn’t mean you should just hop in your vehicle and leave the pavement behind. You can avoid a lot of trial...
Recycled Textiles, Not Bottles: Jack Wolfskin Highest Peak 3L Review
Plenty of brands make outdoor products out of recycled plastic. Patagonia has the Stormshadow Parka. The North Face has its ThermoBall Eco Jackets. Even Goodyear makes its Sustainable Tires from sustainable materials. However, the Highest Peak 3L rain jacket from Jack Wolfskin is one of the first outerwear garments made out of broken-down and recycled textiles. What’s more, you can...

Driving Toward a Better Future
Some vehicles are so popular they have their own online forums. Others even have IRL followings. But the Defender community takes fandom to a new level, gathering for an annual festival and celebrating the Defender Service Awards presented by CHASE, which support mission-driven nonprofits with cash and a customized Defender 130. Applications for the 2024 Defender Service Awards will be accepted from June...
This Is the Most Travel-Friendly Pro Camera We’ve Tested
When asked which camera takes the best photos, professional photographers like to quip that “the best camera is the one you have with you.” It’s a tongue-in-cheek way of saying that you should never worry too much about your gear. Use whatever you have, then do the work to find, frame, and capture a high-quality photo. The photographer matters more...
How Sepp Kuss Became Pro Cycling’s Chillest Champion
Sepp Kuss appears at the door wearing a pair of fuzzy slippers and a warm grin. “Did you find the place OK?” he asks, leading me inside. “How was your drive down?” The smell of freshly brewed coffee fills the hallway as we walk past paintings of wooded mountains and snowy landscapes. It’s as if we’ve entered a ski chalet...
CAKE Is Back: Electric Motorcycle Brand Quickly Arises From Bankruptcy
CAKE reportedly faced financial hardships before filing for bankruptcy on February 1, 2024. The Swedish brand cited socioeconomic conditions and the lack of venture capital for companies in later stages of development. But today, CAKE quietly announced new ownership and the formation of a small team dedicated to moving the brand forward. View this post on Instagram A post shared...
Pushing the Limits of Open-Toed Shoes: Bedrock Cairn Evo C Sandals Review
After wrapping up a weekend of guiding rock climbing in Joshua Tree this spring, my coworker and I had some personal time to explore the National Park. We decided to try to find a little-known cave system called the Mojave Wunderground. The hike to the Wunderground is almost entirely off-trail; we scrambled over boulders, trudged through wet sand, and smeared...
