The Best Overland Books: Inspiration and Lessons for Life on the Road
While the world is changing at an incredibly fast pace, learning from those who traveled the road less traveled before us is still a great place to start when considering overland travel. 　　Online content is great for keeping up to date with the latest happenings, but the in-depth stories for inspiration and practical knowledge are many times still found in...

A Montana woman who went viral earlier this year for grabbing a baby wombat in Australia is now facing a long list of wildlife-related charges in Wyoming. Newly obtained court documents, reviewed by GearJunkie, outline eight misdemeanor counts against Samantha Strable, also known online as Sam Jones or Sam_Strays_Somewhere. These include accusations that she falsely claimed Wyoming residency to secure...
Mobile Toolbox for Daily Life: Victorinox Swiss Army Companion Review
One of my favorite shows when I was growing up was MacGyver. Even as a teenager busy with school, work, and chasing girls, I made time for that show every week. Over the course of seven seasons, he used several different Swiss Army knife models, including the Spartan and the Tinker. 　　I’d already had a Swiss Army knife for a...

While he doesnt have as much time as hed like to hunt, he still enjoys bow hunting as a way to connect with nature and share the tradition passed...
State Bicycle Co. Titanium All-Road Review: Anti-Glamour Gravel Champion
Since launching in 2009, State Bicycle Co. has carved out a reputation for delivering functionality without fluff. Launched this year, the Titanium All-Road certainly fits that bill — quiet and unremarkable, other than the iridescence of its State logos. 　　Still fun as hell, though. 　　Bombing the first descent. Air roaring past my ears. Rocks pinging off the downtube at 30+...
Hyundai Hopes You’ll Go (Pea)Nuts for New Snoopy Themes
Somebodys been snooping around at Hyundai. Make that Snoopy-ing around at Hyundai. 　　The automaker has just added new in-car themes to bring Peanuts to your Palisade and other Hyundai models. Not the trail snack must-have, the classic comic characters. Its a new feature that replaces your boring in-car displays with ones that are a little more fun. 　　Why Not Put...
Watch ‘Out of the Ordinary’: Head Celebrates the Wonderful Weirdness of Ski Culture
Theres a lot more to skiing than sliding around on snow. The culture of lodge life, travel elements, misadventures, impulsive strike missions, and moments of sillyness all define a winter. They fill in the space between runs with a special dopamine-fueled energy you cant get from any other sport. Its a hard thing to define — and its the subject...
The Powder Lover’s Choice: Tubbs Mountaineer Snowshoes Review
It’s a frigid morning in Grand Teton National Park. Nearly 2 new feet of powder blanket the valley floor, and a group of clients wait behind me, shifting with nervous energy as they look out at the untouched snow. As the guide, it’s my job to take the first steps, breaking trail so they can follow without taking on the...
Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus Gets the Biggest Glow-Up Yet
Outdoor communication keeps getting smarter, smaller, and, like all thing, more expensive. Garmin’s new inReach Mini 3 Plus ($499) adds a touchscreen, voice messaging, and photo sharing to a device that once prided itself on being almost stubbornly simple. 　　The new version jumps from a tiny grayscale screen and a handful of buttons to something closer to a stripped-down phone....

Carson Storch Isn’t Afraid to Eat Dirt — Or Move It. Meet the Blue-Collar Daredevil of Big Mountain Biking
Carson Storch labeled himself a blue-collar athlete of the axle sports world. No wonder DECKED, the makers of workman-inspired truck bed drawer systems, liked him enough to sponsor him. 　　“I do dumb stuff on my bike and get paid to do it,” Storch shrugs nonchalantly. 　　This “dumb stuff” includes jumping out of perfectly good helicopters for cameras and ending up...
