Lunar Duo - Outfitter
Six Moon Designs
Lunar Duo - Outfitter
$178.46
Description

Unsurpassed room and comfort at just 3.5 lbs

The Six Moon Designs Lunar Duo Outfitter tent provides the backcountry traveler an unsurpassed amount of space, comfort, durability and low cost. Constructed from durable 190T Polyester, the Outfitter eliminates many of the annoying complaints associated with siliconized nylon. At three and a half pounds, it still packs both smaller and lighter than any 2 person tent of similar size.

The Lunar Duo offers the most interior room of any tent in its class and weight range. Dual curved poles located on either side create a unique arched roof. Combined with a tent height of 45 inches and width of 54 inches, you've got room to spare.

The Lunar Duo's two vestibules can be deployed in multiple positions. Fully open, they provide maximum cross ventilation, keeping you cool and those pesky mosquitoes at bay. They can be raised or lowered, ensuring the optimum configuration for the weather you're likely to encounter. The Lunar Duo's vertical sidewalls prevent rain falling into the tent.

With dual oversize vestibules, each person has plenty of weatherproof storage for gear.

Footprint sold separately.

Plugging Into the Los Angeles Running Scene
Los Angeles may be known for its traffic, but for runners, it’s a city best experienced on foot. From coastal paths and canyon trails to early-morning track workouts and vibrant neighborhood run clubs, LA’s running scene is as diverse and energetic as the city itself. Plugging in is easy once you know where to look: a mix of local run...
Colorado Loses One 14er & Gains Another After Scientific Assessment
The LIDAR Data mapping Colorados Park, Custer, and Fremont Counties was published in 2020, and it raised questions for Eric Gilbertson. The mountaineer and mechanical engineer likes to conduct ground surveys on peaks in his spare time, and his friend Ben Loftin pointed out how close Crestone and East Crestone Peaks elevations looked on the LIDAR data. They were damn...

‘RIFF’: Dynastar Athletes’ First Ski Film Highlights an Incredible Stroke of Alaskan Luck
Sometimes, youve got to get through a little bit of bad luck to find your fortune. While making their first-ever Level 1 ski film, RIFF, Dillon Flinders and Alex Lundstrom learned that firsthand. After a late start, weird snowpack, and unplanned hurdles challenged their ski season, the two Dynastar athletes struck white gold in Alaska. Filmed in locations throughout Utah...
A Second Life for Outdoor Gear: Inside the Tersus Solutions Industrial Laundry Revolution
When a pair of pants has been worn a few times and returned to a retailer, what happens? The answer is complicated and varied, but for a small but growing percentage of these products, a second life begins in a large, nondescript building in Denver. Inside the Tersus Solutions headquarters in an industrial complex just south of Denver, something revolutionary...
Local Groups Rally to Support National Parks Crippled by Government Shutdown
Since the government shutdown began on Oct. 1, many national parks and historic sites have remained open — but with severely reduced staff. Entrance fees are going uncollected, visitor centers are closed, and illegal activities abound in popular parks like Yosemite. In response to these challenges, local organizations and groups have stepped up to help visitors, maintain facilities, and preserve...
Big Box Energy in a Small Package: YETI LoadOut GoBox 1 Review
YETI has a knack for taking the simplest gear and turning it into something fad-worthy. The new LoadOut GoBox 1 is just the next thing that people are going to need to have in several seasonal colors. It is, at its core, a small hard case for your essentials, yet somehow feels over-engineered for a military expedition. Built from the...
Tricked-Out & Affordable Ultralight Backpack: Outdoor Vitals Shadowlight 60 Review
Pushing the last backpacking trip of the year to late fall in Colorado’s high peaks comes with a near guarantee of bad weather — but outlandish beauty in exchange. And pure solitude if you get deep enough. I hoofed it deep into Colorado’s Gore Range just past the peak of the fall colors. Cold, wet, and worth it. Outdoor Vitals’ overhauled...

Coleman Cascade 18 Camp Stove Review: A Classic Cookset Gets a Minimalist Makeover
After a few years of using almost entirely canister, white gas, alcohol, or wood stoves, I’d forgotten the ease of just plugging a propane canister into a burner and scrambling up breakfast in a full-sized pan. That approachability is the very reason that Coleman’s Classic two-burner stoves are as popular as they are: open, plug in the propane, and get...
