Finally, Fords turbocharged Mustang is getting some of the respect it deserves. Ford, along with pro drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr., is launching a new Mustang for the first time. The 2026 Ford Mustang RTR will come with Dark Horse parts, the 2.3L EcoBoost engine, and plenty of RTRs attitude and lime green accents.

Play Anti-Lag Drift-Tune Suspension Start the Turbo Party The Ford Mustang RTR gets the same 2.3L four as every other EcoBoost Mustang. That includes its 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. But the RTR will add an anti-lag system based on tech from the Le Mans–winning Ford GT racer. That system keeps the turbo spooling even when youve backed off to shift, giving you max power with the smallest possible delay.

Ford and RTR have tuned the stability control system in Track mode. If you tick the box for MagneRide adaptive dampers, you get a new tune for those fancy-pants shocks too, and theyre both aimed at making the car better when youre drifting.

The brakes are Brembo units with six-piston front calipers borrowed from the Mustang GT Performance Package. The front and rear swaybars will come from the Mustang Dark Horse, along with that cars stronger rear subframe, to keep the car stiff and everything in place.

They include a Mustang GT front bumper with RTRs lit-up nostrils and an RTR grille and badge. There are special 19-inch wheels, available Hyper Lime–painted brake calipers, and dark anodized graphics on the hood, rockers, and the rear quarters.

Ready to Rock.’ That’s what RTR stands for and it’s what’s driven us to develop a whole line of aftermarket Ford Mustangs and Broncos. But with Mustang RTR, we’re producing the most badass, factory-built, turbocharged Mustang ever.

On the inside, the 2026 Ford Mustang RTR Package cars will get even more Hyper Lime accents. You can get the package on base-spec cloth and vinyl cars or on ActiveX or leather cars. The accents include the dash and door pocket stitching and the handle for the drift brake. Buyers who dont like it can get standard-color cabins instead.

(Photo/Ford) Ford working with RTR is a big deal. Its only the second time in 60 years that Ford has built a high-performance pony with a third party. The other company Ford has worked with like this is Shelby, and those cars are some of the most iconic Fords ever.

The 2026 Ford Mustang RTR Package will be offered on fastback cars, not convertibles. Its on the base model, High package, and the Premium. Ford hasnt announced pricing, but it said that the cars will show up at dealers in the summer of 2026.
