Helly Hansen uses a lot of well-regarded ingredients, but this resort ski jacket is dripping with high-performance and eco-friendlier materials, with a few updates this year. The two-layer shell uses a Helly Tech Professional tech, which dials the waterproofing and breathability for long missions in wet weather.

It has PrimaLoft Black Eco insulation body-mapped to protect your cold spots. The Alpha jacket also uses the brands H2Flow system, which helps vent or retain body heat as needed.

One update is the jackets fit, with a bit more articulation for a greater range of motion in this four-way stretch piece. Helly also added a Life Pocket to help preserve your phones battery out in the cold. As for ski-specific design details, theres an adjustable stretch powderskirt, a detachable and helmet-compatible hood, a ski pass pocket, and wrist gaiters with thumb holes. (Ski Free eligible.)

The large block fabric on the chest has a pocket, and there are two zippered hand pockets at the sides. Lastly, a high collar with an anti-chafe chin guard adds a bit of draft-fighting comfort when temperatures descend.

The Verglas Down Jacket 2.0 is a do-it-all winter insulator, ready to deliver what you need and want from a puffy jacket. You can wear it casually, while hiking, or even ski touring.

Its a lightweight and wind-resistant jacket with a recycled ripstop shell. The down insulation is now hydrophobic to help you retain heat if moisture gets through. Elastic cuffs and an adjustable hem help keep cold air out and warm air in. It also packs down into one of its own hand pockets.

Shop Now Versalite Hybrid Fleece Jacket — Mens: $125

Stay Warm and Active in the Latest Winter Gear From Helly Hansen7

The Versatile Hybrid Fleece Jacket is named that for a reason. Its a more serious active layer that will keep your core warm while shielding you from the wind in front. Its a good fit for higher-output activities like ski touring, mountaineering, and trail running. It has a high collar, thumb holes, and two zippered chest pockets.

This stretchy and quick-drying piece works as a jacket while on the move. If the weather turns and you need a true shell, it makes a warm midlayer.
