No, this isnt a collaboration between Subaru and Coldplay. Yes, the cars have the Pleiades cluster on the nose, and yes, theyre all yellow. But its just a coincidence.
Called the 2026 Subaru WRX Series.Yellow and 2026 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow, the two new special editions will be launched at the Boxerfest event in Pennsylvania later this month.
Subaru Loves a Good Special Paint Color

Subaru didnt give us WRX images, so heres the same color from 2015; (photo/Subaru) The Series.Yellow is the seventh outing for Subarus special-color Series series. Last year, it was the Series.Purple, and it has done gray and SuperBlue among other limited-edition shades.
This year, both the WRX and BRZ get the Series treatment. The highlight is the Sunrise Yellow paintwork, though Subaru has done this one before. The yellow has been a signature on other specials, including the 2015 Crosstrek Special Edition, but there was another Series.Yellow model of the BRZ back in 2017.
Subaru is painting this pair in bright colors, but it isnt doing much in the way of mechanical changes. Make that nothing in the way of mechanical changes.
This is a cosmetic package that includes the yellow paint and matte black wheels. Youll have to cross the yellow lines to get inside, because both cars get yellow contrast stitching everywhere. Doors, seats, and dash; they are all stitched in yellow.
There will only be 350 of each this year. Thats fewer than the 500 built in previous special-edition cars, so this Series.Yellow could be hard to get.
The 2026 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow is based on the BRZ tS, which means it has STI-tuned Hitachi shocks, Brembo brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. The 2.4L 228-horsepower boxer-four is unchanged.
If you want the WRX, thats based on the tS grade, too. It gets electronically adjustable shocks with big brakes, and it will come with Pilot Sport 4 rubber on its 19-inch wheels. The engine is the same 2.4L turbo-four as every other WRX, making 271 horsepower.
Stick-Shift Only, At Dealers Later This Year

Subaru will show off the cars for the first time at Boxerfest this weekend. Its part of a long tradition of bringing special editions and limited-run new models to owner parties around the country first. Unveiling them to fans before they go on the traditional auto show circuit is a nice touch to help build the brand and show that Subaru cares.
The cars wont show up at dealers until later this year. Subaru will announce pricing closer to that arrival, but for reference, a 2025 BRZ tS is $36,245, and the WRX tS is $45,705. If youre wondering why we dont have more photos of the yellowbarus, its because Subaru hasnt taken any. Or at least not published them.
