Ford wants to tap into some serious Mustang nostalgia. The new Ford Mustang FX Package is a retro-look option that is going to take you back to one of the most totally radical Mustangs of all time. It is inspired by the very rare and very cool teal that was available on the 1993 Ford Mustang Cobra.

　　Fox Body Flavor on Modern-Day Mustang

　　(Photo/Ford) If youre a Mustang-head, youve already guessed that FX is short for Fox — as in Fox Body, a name that refers to the platform that underpinned the Mustang from 1978 to 1993. For many, that was the Mustang of their youth. It also saved the car after the disaster that was the Mustang II.

　　The Ford Mustang FX Package doesnt include that teal paint, though. Instead, it starts with some of the other best details of the 80s and 90s. These include white-painted wheels that are now 19 inches in diameter instead of the 16-inch originals. There are two white wheel designs: one for the standard car and another with a retro look for the Performance Package.

　　Ford repainted the badges white. The 5.0 badge, the GT logo, and the Pony emblems are all looking fly with that Oxford White paint. Performance pack cars get white grille nostrils, while standard cars get dark gray. Ford will offer white taillight surrounds, too, but theyll be aftermarket accessories and not part of the pack.

　　The cabin is equally awesome. Ford has finished the seats in a plaid that looks like the one in 1980s Mustangs. The standard buckets get the fabric, and so do the optional Recaro sport seats. The instrument panels new GT badge is in the font used specially for the Ford Mustang FX Package.

　　Ford Mustang FX Offers Teal but Doesnt Hog It

　　(Photo/Ford) Youll be able to order your 2026 Ford Mustang in the 90s-style Adriatic Blue Metallic paint in the pictures, and you can get that with or without the FX pack. Ford is also bringing back Orange Fury Metallic.

　　Bring some cash, though, if you want the Ford Mustang FX Package. Ford didnt announce a price, but did say it will only be offered on the GT Premium, which starts at $51,080 for 2025.

　　That means a 486-horsepower 5.0L V8, more than double what you could get in 1993. Ford will sell the FX as a coupe or convertible, manual or automatic, and with or without the Performance package.

　　Order books open in late June. Expect pricing and availability a few months later. Then you can be rollin in your 5.0, 1993 style.
